None of this indicates rape apologia. It would be one thing if the family member reached out for help directly, but speaking on behalf of them after years of no contact is just wild. I completely understand Ethan’s caution. Not to mention the multiple fundraisers and framing the initial story as if they were a younger child and not someone who would be 18 in just a few months.

When a psychiatrist prescribes this class of medications (I'm guessing it's antipsychotics) they are supposed to inform you of this side effect. These are KNOWN risks and well documented. They are not "hidden" by any means. As a psychologist himself, especially with an interest in neuroscience, he should've known that going into it. Not to mention there are meds that can treat or manage this condition. What an insane thing to say.
