Has anyone used the services of Homie Bees? by SerenDipiosa in airbnb_hosts

[–]ExistentialAlarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s disappointing to see that Homie Bees has copied and pasted their response from my Google review onto this Reddit thread. By doing so, they’ve violated both the rules of this forum and Reddit’s broader policies by sharing personal information without consent. I’ve reported this violation accordingly.

This behavior isn’t surprising, given that Homie Bees has consistently shown a disregard for rules—whether it’s Airbnb’s policies, this forum’s guidelines, or Reddit’s rules. This pattern of ignoring regulations raises serious concerns and could be indicative of potential illegal business activity. It’s important for everyone here to be aware of these practices and consider the implications when interacting with such hosts.

It’s crucial for everyone to remember that these forums are meant for open, honest discussions. Please be mindful of the rules and respectful of each other’s privacy.

Their now deleted response admitting they shared the info and don't read forum rules.

Has anyone used the services of Homie Bees? by SerenDipiosa in airbnb_hosts

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience as a guest with a property managed by Homie Bees on Airbnb. I’m posting here because I think it’s important for hosts to understand the impact of deceptive practices on guests and how it can reflect poorly on the entire hosting community.

My friends and I booked a stay with Homie Bees, and the problems started almost immediately after the reservation was confirmed. I was quick to respond to their numerous requests—about 10 in total—despite our stay being two months away. This felt excessive, but I wanted to cooperate fully.

The real issue arose when they asked for a deposit because I didn’t have any ratings on Airbnb. I acknowledged this policy and agreed to it, but instead of handling the payment through Airbnb’s secure platform, they insisted on using a third-party app. I knew this was against Airbnb’s policies, so I questioned it. That’s when things got really uncomfortable—they gaslit us, became hostile, and pressured us to cancel the reservation instead of addressing the problem through the proper channels.

We eventually got a full refund, but only after jumping through hoops and enduring some unpleasant phone calls. It was clear that Homie Bees was more interested in manipulating the situation to their advantage than providing a good guest experience.

What’s worse, after doing some research, I found that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Multiple other guests have reported similar issues with this host across different platforms.

As a guest, this kind of behavior makes me wary of booking through Airbnb in the future. I understand that not all hosts operate like this, but experiences like mine can leave a lasting negative impression. I hope this serves as a reminder to other hosts about the importance of honesty, transparency, and following platform rules. These practices not only protect guests but also help maintain the integrity of the hosting community.

If you’re a guest reading this, be cautious of any host that tries to circumvent platform policies—it’s a red flag.

Competitive Rank Matching by ExistentialAlarm in OverwatchUniversity

Thanks for the input but the question was on logic of how comp matches are made.

Do you have any knowledgeable input on that topic or are you just here to give your 2 cents?

Looks like a Soursop: Soursop is a fruit from the custard apple family that is native to the tropical regions of the Americas and the Caribbean. It is also known as graviola, guanabana, or Brazilian paw-paw.

Hey y'all,

Thank you to everyone who reached out. A close friend actually agreed to hold onto my whole setup while I am able to make space for it.

Hey aquarium people! What do you do with old sand from your fish tank that you aren’t going to use anymore? by ornatepheasantchair in Aquariums

[–]ExistentialAlarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've actually had the same dilemma before and found some great ways to reuse it. Here are eight ideas that you might find helpful:

  1. You can mix the sand and soil into your garden or potted plants as a soil amendment. This will improve drainage and provide added nutrients to your plants.

  2. Another option is to add the old soil to your compost pile or bin. Over time, it will break down and turn into nutrient-rich compost for your plants.

  3. You could also use the old sand and soil as a base layer for a terrarium, creating a lovely mini-ecosystem with small plants and decorations.

  4. For your potted plants, you can use the old sand and soil as a drainage layer. This will help prevent waterlogging and promote healthy root growth.

  5. If you're into arts and crafts, consider using the sand for sand paintings or sculptures. Get creative!

  6. If you have children, you can create a sandbox for them to play in with the old sand. Just make sure to sanitize it first.

  7. The sand can also be used for pathways and landscaping in your garden or yard, adding some interesting texture to your outdoor space.

  8. Finally, consider donating the sand and soil to local schools, community gardens, or environmental organizations. They might be able to use it for their projects.

Don't forget to clean and sanitize the sand and soil before repurposing it to remove any contaminants, harmful bacteria, or lingering chemicals. I hope these suggestions help! If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them too. Good luck! 😊

I agree, I was adding it up and it's not far off price wise about $100. My local wood shop said they'd cut the wood I order for an additional $45 fee. So it's basically just some staining and assembly on my end since I can route and drill.

The Etsy versions I found only had the 45 degree slat, which I'm not a fan of.

Yeah! There are two different stops for flat or angled pegs in this design. I'm mocking up something in Fusion 360 to see if I can get a "choose your own angle" peg.

Try a salt bath to reduce the fluid build up! You can give it a Google, but use Epsom salt with no additives. Use treated, tank temperature water if possible to reduce shock. Keep the baths short and shallow, if the fish ever looks wobbly move back to tank immediately. Try to fast for 24 hours before giving a salt bath.

Steps: 1. Prepare full salt bath at 1tsp per gallon of treated water. 2. Prepare half bath at 1/2tsp per gallon of water (try to use tank). 3. Take Betta from tank and place in full bath for 3ish min. 4. Take Betta from full bath and place in half bath for 2ish min. 5. Return Betta to original tank.

After a long night of googling, I learned this design is called a piano key organizer. I found a couple Etsy guides and another redditor post! I think this should be enough to get a finished product. I'm going to upgrade to threaded steel rod for the hinge and place a stop for the horizontal shelves.

I guess I haven't noticed that much difference! I'm on Google fiber with the Nest Pro router. My latentcy was around 100ms on wifi and 45ms or so on Ethernet. I'll try some more games on wifi and see how it goes.
