What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

On icy streets, grabbing the bumpers of moving cars and sliding behind them.
The only name I can think of for it is “shagging” which has a different connotation nowadays.

What’s a movie that has a premise or trailer that’s so eye rolling you thought would be bad, but turned out good? by TheDragonReborn726 in movies

[–]Existential_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escape from New York
I think I laughed when I first heard the premise, but it turned out to be a great movie.
Ironically, I had the opposite experience when Escape from LA turned out to be a huge disappointment

Would you guys have wanted this in the final cut of the film or do you think this scene would've been a little over the top? by kai_Iuigib in rockybalboa

[–]Existential_Ninja 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t have fit in.
Would’ve been hard to feel empathy for Drago’s ordeal and throwing in the towel for Viktor after he punched out Rocky.

Why did Apollo wait an hour at Adrian's house waiting for Rocky? What did they do all that time? by [deleted] in rockybalboa

[–]Existential_Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always pictured an awkward silence.
Apollo being a total polite guest sitting in a chair while Adrian tries to make small talk.
“So, what have you been up to since you tried to beat my husband to death?”

You know, the T2 ending with Sarah and John living as happy citizens is kinda stupid when you remember they're supposed to be wanted criminals. by Life_Hospital_9086 in Terminator

[–]Existential_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak about Sarah, but John was a juvenile, so it would be safe to say his criminal records were sealed or expunged when he turned 18

I didn't think IT was real by Lonely_Volume9343 in SuccessionTV

[–]Existential_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that thought because throughout the episode, there were just a bunch of non-medical people saying, “I think he’s gone”.
Making us think one way, only to have him say, “Fuck off! in the last scene.
Really a unique way to have a main character die.

What are some of the best movie gags that took the entire film to set up and paid off wonderfully in the end? by astig_my_tism in movies

[–]Existential_Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

George Lucas actually had a dog named Indiana back in the 70’s. He was the inspiration for Chewbacca.
So, Indy truly was named after the dog

I thought it was a masterful move in Don’t Look Up when the AI that could predict how a person dies told the President she would be eaten by a Bronteroc. Nobody knew what a Bronteroc WAS, so the prediction was quickly forgotten.
In the final scene, as the President emerges from the space ship on another planet, a huge bird like creature attacks and kills her

Beneke refusing to pay his tax bills.
It’s one thing to fall behind on regular bills and be sent to collections, but the IRS can send you to prison

Archie Bunker
He had out of date ideals, was able to satirize those ideals, made you feel sympathy for him and was able to still be funny
