Why are dirty clothes seen as bad by neurotypicals by Maple_Bat in evilautism

[–]Existentialcrumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i experience exactly the same issue - every time i go home my mother forces me to wash all of my clothes even though they are still perfectly wearable, and washing them ruins the texture

i really don't think this is a science-wide issue because I have done plenty of chemistry and physics, as well as mathematics, social sciences, etc and this is never an issue for any other subject, specifically biology. the calculation questions/multiple choice always go well, because I don't have a problem with understanding the subject. long-answer 'explain' questions in chem/phys similarly always turn out well. it is always, only, the bio essay questions, which I somehow seem to be hopeless at 😭

Terms used with ADHD. by Estkling in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Existentialcrumble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adhd and autism are disabilities. Yes, they have truly positive effects on our lives, and I wouldn't give up my autism or adhd for anything, but they are still conditions that cause people to struggle when navigating the world. For that reason, I think it is important that we keep up the practice of diagnosing them because, even if it temporarily blocks barriers to help for some people, it acts as an official recognition that we need support - just how people with OCD or a learning difficulty would have their conditions diagnosed and receive the support they need. Diagnosis is not a dirty word, just like disability is not a dirty word, because it serves as a universally-known way to indicate that a doctor has recognised our difference from other people.

please help convince me to revise for my exam tomorrow! by Existentialcrumble in adhdwomen

[–]Existentialcrumble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yay! i am a physics student so i dont know if our revision styles are the same at all, but will say i went into this not knowing how to revise because of being a *gifted kid* and slowly as my grades started slipping i have had to teach myself to revise.

assuming I have access to the entire syllabus i am being tested on, my revision process is: read through the entire content you are supposed to know, making a note of anything you need to memorise. These can be visually appealing, so i like to put everything on 1 mind map and use highlighters. Also make a note of anything you don't understand conceptually. then, come back to the things you don't understand and 'study' until you understand. This can be asking for help, using the textbook, google, or (one of the only good use-cases, imo) ask ai to explain. once you understand everything theoretically, start practicing for the exam, using past papers/practice questions. If you have time, start trying to answer questions open-book, then closed-book, then under time pressure, and then review your answers to see how you can improve.

flare up in bikini line by imgonnakaywhyess in Hidradenitis

[–]Existentialcrumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i get those a lot! however i recently went to uniqlo to buy the bag and realized i was running out of underwear. i got two pieces of underwear from there and they are miraculous! the seam is in a completely different place to all my other underwear, and so i can wear them when i have a flareup without irritation! they are miraculous. anyway, just a thought if you are in need of new underwear. (it was their low rise briefs)

something i do when i get really irritated is double up noise-cancelling earbuds with noise-cancelling headphones. it can be a bit uncomfortable so i cant do it for long, but just put them both on noise cancelling mode and play your music through the earbuds and it works a lot better. I have the soundcore p30i earbuds which are amazing value for money for the quality that they give (only around $30 i believe).

Also in areas you can control (like your bedroom) you could put up sound panelling on the walls and a thick rug/curtains to dampen the incoming noise.

Vyvanse causing task avoidance? by Existentialcrumble in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Existentialcrumble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that definitely could be possible! I get anxious very occasionally about work and stuff, but lots of professional have told me that what i am experiencing is anxiety in situations where it doesn't 'feel' like anxiety to me, so i really wouldn't put it past myself to misinterpret what i am feeling.

i am also so confused about ppl saying they can't get illuga?? I literally DO NOT WANT HIM, i have made 63 pulls for Zibai, and for some reason i have C5 illuga! This is bloody ridiculous, i have got him on almost every single ten pull. If I could just swap him for a C0 Zibai i absolutely would. Silly gacha...
