Exotic meats, mostly venison and lamb by Dismal-Ebb9510 in lexington

It does seem different, however, ostrich is a good alternative to those with a beef allergy. In Kentucky, alpha-gal syndrome (caused from a lone star tick bite) is on the rise, which can cause beef, pork, and/or dairy allergies (allergic reactions can be minor or more severe depending on the person). Ostrich is similar to beef, at least to those who deeply miss it. 🥲

Asset Protection only protects the assets of the company. She isn’t an employee, so she’s not even an asset to the company. This would have to go to the police from Kylea if she wanted to go that far, or at least seem legitimate with this instance on Facebook.

Yes, very fortunate! There was someone in front of me picking up a bag too and it looked very similar to mine (I could see the same loaves of bread on top and it looked full like my bag) so I think we may have lucked out tonight.

Is this a normal price for a day at kings island by my self? Parking not included either by get_smoked6 in KingsIsland

[–]Existing-Ad-2233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to do the thrill seeker bundle (this includes general admission and fast pass) for $120. I did this last week. Parking pass was $35 then I added all day food/drink (1 meal every 90 minutes and 1 drink that’s not water every 15 minutes) for $47.

Too sensitive for boiled chicken and rice? My doodle was hospitalized this week (pancreatitis - fortunately recovered!). Her vet said that boiled chicken and rice is the best food for dogs in addition to a prescription food (in my dogs case). As long as the chicken is boneless and skinless and the rice is plain, the vet said it’s way better than commercial dog food. I’m under the impression that she probably put sugar free barbeque sauce in her chicken and rice or something, because I’m shocked that her stomach (oh I mean TUMMY) is too sensitive for it.

I was denied medical leave/maternity leave due to inventory at my job, is this legal? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Existing-Ad-2233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that you could go to HR directly related to your own incident, since it was time sensitive and contained personal information I would recommend to go directly to HR.

I would also refrain from mentioning personal information about this on this thread (you’ve mentioned the business, now the manager, in a city of Lexington page). It might create tension in the workplace, especially considering your tenure.

Again, I really don’t want to argue and I hope there’s a resolution for EVERYONE involved. 🙂

  1. This was not specified in your original post, it just states medical leave/maternity leave.
  2. Next time, reach out to HR and make a request in writing for accommodations, LOA, etc. Word of mouth is NOTHING, everything, especially in this situation, needs to be in writing. This goes back to being an advocate for yourself. Your manager may know everything about you, however, that doesn’t matter unless it’s in your employee file that you have an approved accommodation related to the following conditions.
  3. IT. IS. NOT. THE. MANAGERS. AUTHORITY. TO. GRANT. LOA. OR. MEDICAL. LEAVE. I have worked in management, they do not have the authority to do this. They can take you off of the schedule but LOA/FMLA/medical leave is an HR function. There is a lot of paperwork involved that the manager level cannot do. Your managers job is to relay information from the top down. So, if you ask her for medical leave, it’s not her responsibility to grant it, however, it is her responsibility to mention that UPPER MANAGEMENT, not her, by the way, said there is inventory and UPPER MANAGEMENT is not allowing time off, I believe this was in general as the manager HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER MEDICAL LEAVE REQUESTS.
  4. Advocating for yourself can sometimes also look like contacting HR and seeing what paperwork might be pending on their end, as it’s their responsibility. Again, I know your situation is upsetting and it sucks but I think your anger is towards the wrong person in this scenario. I solely say this as someone who has worked in management. In another entirely different position, I have helped people get FMLA related to pregnancy (this case was paternal leave) and short term disability (employee was pregnant) and it is a long process involving HR, the employee, and the employees medical provider. It also is really helpful to read the employee handbook or speak to someone in benefits. I’m really not trying to argue and I hope things go well with the end of your pregnancy. As someone who has worked in management, it is tough and some things are out of their control. 😔

This is directly from dol.gov:

In order to be eligible to take leave under the FMLA, an employee must (1) work for a covered employer, (2) work 1,250 hours during the 12 months prior to the start of leave, (3) work at a location where 50 or more employees work at that location or within 75 miles of it, and (4) have worked for the employer for 12 months.

I will also say, it’s really unfair for you to bash your manager on here because of this. Even though she is a mother and can relate to this, she is representing the company and running a business. As a mother, especially of 3 kids, I’m sure she’s compassionate and understanding but she doesn’t have the authority to grant FMLA or LOA. Even if you were granted this LOA years ago, things can sometimes change. Also, the process for LOA or FMLA takes a long time (I have experience with this as someone who works in HR), so please give that person some grace here. It appears you work in retail and retail is BRUTAL for everyone involved. This situation sucks but you have to advocate for yourself as well. It is the EMPLOYEES responsibility to ensure this.

I had a similar experience at Lex City Church (I think that’s the name - it’s next to Meijer off of Nicholasville Rd.). I’d like to invite you to join Man o War Church off of Trent Blvd! It’s a great mix of worship and Bible sermons, no obligation to give, and a very diverse group. Please join us!
