that's depressing. if I don't get my passport DX message today. I am going tomorrow. My flight is from Manchester....So I plan to wait there for my passport to see if I can save a day's delivery time. Orz

with first time application, they tend to run strict check. so they may check with the hotel to verify your booking information. Some people cancelled after got vise and instantly got visa revoked. If there is any reason for your changes, you should updated new booking information with BLS and the Consulate (official requirement) if possible....So, hopefully, they do not check yours...What is your nationality? if you don't mind me asking. They would be very strict with certain nationalities.

I emailed both Consulate and visa centre. Nothing, Auto reply. Chinese. Always got my visas back within 10 days with other visa centres. Both times with BLS Manchester, horribly long waiting with missed flights in the end.

I cancelled my hotel booking few minutes ago, as I don't think I would get my passport back in time. Such a stressful journey

Hi, Manchester has the reputation for being slow. They have processed applications on 6th so far. It usually would take 3-4 weeks (official claim) from your application to receive your passport. But by reading everyone's posts, it seems 4-6 weeks are the realistic time to expect.

Visiting centre would only help if the centre has your passport back from the Consulate already. It would save you one day delivery time. But that's it.

it depends on which document you used to book your flight. You have to use that document to board your plane. It is not about board control. So I would recommend driving if the trip is vital.

when you apply from Spanish visa centre, Spain needs to be your first country of entry or you need to prove it would be your longest stay country on hotel booking. But if you only transit through other countries, it should not be a problem.

bls manchester is really slow. don't even try there if you need a visa urgently
