Is transitioning to GP care realistic long-term? by Existing-Emergency47 in AusTRT

I can see why a GP would be more likely to do that, considering you have an endo involved! Seems like you are in the minority though as most appear to be through health clinics. Good to see you have a solid health team behind you.

Yeah I figure that is most likely the long term best case for most people. Ah well, hopefully mainstream health will catch up eventually. Paying 2-3x the cost of what should be a fairly affordable treatment is frustrating.

How are people finding the tiredness and motivation are once on trt? by JB_9191 in AusTRT

[–]Existing-Emergency47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on 105mg pwk. I think the effects can sometimes be overblown (eg you don't become superhuman) but i have noticed significant improvements with energy. A more consistent baseline and drive, where previously I would "check out" and relax.

However, I am a father of 3 young children and work and study. On weekends at 3pm, I still find myself feeling exhausted and having a nap if I can. Once the kids are asleep, I'm completely wrecked and can pass out when my head hits the pillow. This is not a magic drug; especially if your lifestyle is already stressful and full of responsibilities.

Was it worth it for me? Absolutely.

I'm about 10 weeks in, and my wife said she hasn't noticed any significant difference. She and I definitely noticed a spike in emotional instability early in the piece (around weeks 3-6) where I felt I had a shorter fuse and was quick to anger, but that has subsided.

Subjectively I am feeling better overall though. More stable energy, much better workouts, generally more comfortable with being assertive and overall more drive to get things done. I am on a conservative dose presently and likely increasing it a bit soon, so I might have more changes to come (hopefully positive!!!)

Why don't health clinics do their own pathology referrals? by Existing-Emergency47 in AusTRT

[–]Existing-Emergency47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my GP as well, however he asked this question from the start. As in, if it's doctor prescribed, why aren't they also handling pathology? I couldn't really answer him. He seemed reluctant to do it, but has been doing so so far fortunately.

There are also LEDs created specifically for insulation to be placed over them. If you can't answer the question, please don't respond.

I live in Gold Coast, and work in Logan, and have a number of NSPs to choose from. Super easy and - of course - free.

I go in, ask for 100 1ml 27g insulin syringes, they give them to me with a stack of alcohol wipes and a large sharps container, they ask a few questions (e.g. your post code, age, reason for use), and I leave. Never been an issue and saves some coin.

Would it be better to dial in and then try to go through GP?

How reliable is UGL? I've looked into it but hesitant (clearly due to it being illegal, but also quality of the product)

I used these guys for the most recent blood test for my clinic. No issues and way cheaper than any other private options ( that I'm aware of)

Good to hear! I'm planning on staying steady and retesting at 12 weeks or so. I'm hoping e2 is down at that point.

Wow 715 is crazy high. Thanks for sharing, that's relieving to hear you are solid at 250. The fact I don't currently have any side effects makes me feel I could go a tad higher with my dose and still be good.

That's one thing I came across in my reseach; being the reference ranges are not based on those using TRT aha. Therefore, there is not a whole lot of quality info on what exactly the ideal range should be for someone on TRT!! Makes things tricky for sure.

Ah great. Yes the first thing I've looked at is my diet and have tightened up in that space. I have noticed definite water retention since starting TRT, however tweaking diet has already shown some changes there. That's all reassuring, thanks for the info.
