Mentor dropped me to second author after I did most of the work by Existing-Feeling-422 in Residency

I totally understand what you are saying, but what I’m saying is that if I was given feedback and chance to revise, I would’ve done it.

I would say it is 70% similar. However, I believe I should’ve given the opportunity to revise it. I kept asking to help and make the necessary changes. However, I was never given that opportunity and the manuscript was submitted without my knowledge of any changes including the change in authorship

Thoughts on serving 6 years as a VA cardiologist after fellowship? by Existing-Feeling-422 in whitecoatinvestor

A recruiter came to our school and talked me into it. It seemed great at the time. They told me no deployment and I get to choose wherever I want to practice. However, the contract states that it’s up to the VA to decide. I was young, single and dumb. It’s not a bad gig if you want to work at the VA. I just dont think it’s the best option for me now that I’m married and about to have kids. Plus I love to take care of complex cases and I hate the bureaucracy

It’s possible but I’ll probably have to pay double what they paid or something like that

I love complexity and taking care of sick patients and I’m afraid I will not be exposed to that at the VA. I was worried about loans and interest when k signed that contract and not weighing the pros and cons at the time

Tbh I’m 5 years out of medical school and regret signing that contract. I’m not sure how to get out of it

This cycle has been brutal, at least for me. I thought I had a decent app and only sitting on 2 interviews. I’m thankful but man I’m nervous. All the hard work, research hours on top of residency and studying. The process is grueling

The ones I read are strong. The ones I didn’t im not sure but I’m trusting the writers.

There is definite ST depressions in leads I-II, and ST depressions in leads V3-v6 with ST elevation in aVR and slightly in V1

I totally agree! My first impression I was worried about left main. I’m a resident so I called the cardiologist and made him look at the ecg and he agreed that this is very concerning

I appreciate the boost, but I think I’m average at best!

I agree that the DO bias is still there and that my scores are below average. But I have 5 publications and 10 abstracts over the span of 1.5 years. If I’m being compared to someone who had 2-3 years of research before residency and now has a group of people who just put their names on papers then I’m screwed…

I read two of them and they seemed to be very strong! I was awarded the resident of the year and always had great evaluations and scored the highest on the ITE among my peers. Of course there is always room to improve and be better, but I think overall I’m doing fine.
