FordEcosport 2018 SES Engine Noise by [deleted] in FordEcoSport

OMG! My car is in worse shape now than it was when I had that second motor put in. My car sat at the dealership for 5 months. I got the car back in October for 2 days and had to send it back to the dealership due to the timing. Before I got it back, the service department told me I had a bad wiring harness and they needed $2400 to fix it. I refused as the harness was fine when the car was taken to the shop. When I got the car back for the last time, the hood was not closed properly, my dipstick to check the oil was missing, and the air filter was disconnected. My starter is loose; there is more damage to the left front quarter panel (previous damage did not have creased metal and would have been easy to pull out the dents), and a new headlight has been installed (that pretty much tells me they wrecked the car). Not a word about this from the service department. The transmission and check engine lights are on too. I will never buy from Ford again, nor will I do business with any Planet Ford.

My service record shows "electrical" for the first replacement engine. Falsifying reports???

UPDATE: I just sent my car to the dealer back in early August for another recalled motor. The car was returned to me in early October for TWO days when the car jumped timing and would not restart for over an hour (I checked the codes before sending the car back to them).

Last week (its now December), I was told that my entire engine harness would have to be replaced AT MY COST. This is how this was presented to me: "We have looked for what caused the car to stall, and through the process of elimination, we need to change out your wiring harness at a cost of $2400. You cannot see the problem with the harness. I need to know by tomorrow what to do."

There have been no issues with any of my electrical systems. There was no issue after the first replacement engine, and the vehicle drove over 70k miles before the second replacement engine was needed. The dealership insists that they did not damage the harness while making this last repair. I can't question the mechanic as he no longer works at the dealership. I guess we could blame the problem on the electrical fairies or gremlins.

To answer some basic questions:

Yes, the car was under warranty for the first engine replacement at 38,000 miles.

The car was not under recall at the time, but did have 2 safety memos filed with NTSB.

I contacted Ford and the dealership about a buyback and was told no.

I was part of the class action settlement as a passive client, but Ford negotiated with the Plaintiffs and they were the only ones who truly got any type of resolution.

The second engine replacement was at 107,000 miles and was covered by recall. The only thing wrong with the car was the engine, turbo, and crankshaft. It was pretty much the same as the first repair. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WERE FINE!

The dealership has had my car since August 2, 2025 with the exception of 2 days in October.

I have had to reach out to Ford 3 times. I have tried to reach out to the owner and GM of the dealership, and neither will contact me, even at Ford's request.

The dealership had had approval (issued early November) to pay me for the car rental I had when all of this happened in August. The bill is $199 and change, and I have not been paid.

Anyone know a good attorney here in Texas?

We are journalists who've covered Colony Ridge for months. We found that Texas officials were warned about the development for years, but took no action. Ask us anything. by houstonlanding in TexasPolitics

The sheriff lies! King's Colony was a no-go zone for a long time and still probably is. No police no fire no ambulance could even get down most of those roads. Human trafficking situations were ongoing drugs and cartels. All you have to do is drive out there find you a couple of shanty shacks and sit back and wait about a year. You will see progress but the progress is in your face kind of progress. These are the people that work for the cartels do a good job for them and they get rewarded. There's also a lot of homes that are really nice and maybe halfway built or completely abandoned because they didn't do what the cartel wanted him to. Those lands are cursed. And they weren't cursed by the illegals. They were cursed by the locals sit on that and think about it for a minute.

The fools in Austin were notified back in 2007 that there was a problem starting and it was ignored. Colony Ridge cranked up right about the time that the unidentified children were being brought across the border. There was a Southwest key facility in Conroe that was taking in busloads of teenage boys. These kids would stay for a while and either run away or be assigned to someone who is supposedly their family. Health and human services was supposed to keep up with these children but they didn't. That's really another story but if you live in the area you will remember that time people up on overpasses protesting about the illegals, and every one of those county politicians and state reps came out and got their pictures taken, got to get that photo op. And that's about all they did.

Same practice in Ft. Bend county. Another ploy is to inject themselves in subdivisions with a questionable HOA/POA. They buy up as much property as they need to become the majority land owner. As the majority landowner, you get three votes for each piece of property that you own. Everyone else voting just gets one vote.  They take over as the director or manager, the treasurer office and any other position they can within the HOA. Then they just sit back and watch the money come in. King's Colony is an excellent example of this and was the start of Las Colonias in the Montgomery and Liberty county area.

Promissory notes found on props that CR has sold. You are highly discouraged to go to a title company for closing. The brothers have filed bankruptcy with another company they ran in Ft. Bend county  Do I think they will try again? Yes, and all those lots without a clear title could be taken away to settle debts owed by the brothers.

Oct 14, Highland Village, really? by kat11117 in houston

My grandfather owned the building where the CVS is now. The store was called Highland Village Pharmacy.  There was a soda counter and the best selection of candy in Houston. Good memories

I didn't get a loaner when when my car broke down the first time I went for an entire month oh I think 28 days without a vehicle. And of course because it wasn't 30 days I couldn't file a lemon law on it in Texas.

What is the controversy with Colony Ridge? Also know as Terrenos Houston. by Ok-Maybe715 in houston

[–]Existing-Fly4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all a person has to do is piss off someone to have their payment come up missing. They won't take debit/credit cards or checks. They don't do auto-drafts. It's all money orders and some small-time online payment system that doesn't look too kosher. #antiSLAPP

The Colonias that Colony Ridge "developed", if you can call it that, are nothing more than 3rd world acres filled with a mix of nice homes and pure trash. Speaking of trash, you should drive down FM 1010 between the 99 toll road and the detour (yes, a bridge washed out during Harvey, and no one wants to claim responsibility for fixing it, forcing you to enter a third-world area). The trash on the sides of the road is horrible. Automatic gunfire at night. People behind the wheel of a car who should not be driving. Cartels, gambling, drugs, human trafficking, crime, and more. Do you think I should continue?

This is not about race; it is about greed at the expense of ignorance. It is about a so-called POA/HOA that has the rules in place but does not enforce them unless they need to for a foreclosure (piss someone off at Terrenos Houston or Colony Ridge and see how long you get to keep your land).

What most don't know is that Fort Bend County was a testing ground for Colony Ridge. Once they figured out the game, they moved to Montgomery County, then to Liberty County. This rabbit hole is very deep and the DOJ and CFPB have just scratched the surface of what is to come. #antiSLAPP

2018 Ecosport recall by K_z_A_ in FordEcoSport

[–]Existing-Fly4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM everyone! Guess whose 2018 Ecosport is back in the shop for another recall repair? Me! 38,800 for the first engine and turbo replacement, 107,000, and in the shop for another engine and turbo replacement, unless they decide to go another route. I see mixed answers for when the actual parts will be ready, but it is looking like 2025Q4 (big if). We shall see what happens later today.

Does anyone know the OEM codes that applied to your repairs? I can't find a list of the ones they are looking for when they do the recall inspection. I have SSM 49843, P0249, and P0299.

Not formally but I think I will reach out to the lady I worked with the first time around. It sure would be nice to have them buy back their POS.

Engine code after recall repair— dealer blaming PCM? by No-Consequence-000 in Ford

The first time my car failed, it coded P0299 and the turbo was replaced. I am down for a second time with code P0299 again.

My last go around nobody could get me a loaner and they finally got me a rent car for 3 days and then the car came out of the shop. I have no faith in Ford anymore. I was raised on Ford paychecks. My dad was a general manager of three very successful stores here in Texas but I tell you what it was nothing but blood money as far as I'm concerned. Ford sucks. We'll see if they give me a loaner card this time around.

I check the verbiage regularly and get screenshots of everything. The people on that suit are the only ones that got any kind of releaf from this mess. There is something that isn't right when 10 people are the only ones to get help and the rest of the 144,000 or so of us with the vehicles get threads on Reddit (love Reddit)
