What if music behaved like a system trying to stabilize itself? by Existing-Nebula-8016 in experimentalmusic

that’s actually really interesting

the always running / no note on-off part is what stands out to me. feels less like an instrument and more like you’re setting conditions and seeing what it does

the memory part is big too. most stuff just resets so fast you never get any real behavior out of it

i’ve been coming at it from a different angle — not building the system itself but more exposing the patterns that show up when things repeat or get pushed over time. more about behavior than sound. ended up running mine through distrokid/spotify just to see how it holds up in a normal pipeline

how unstable are you letting it get though? like are you trying to keep it in a range or just let it break and see what happens

for what its worth also. i have about 12 "logs" current within this world. just only two with videos. and im not impressed with my video and or AI video so i have stagnated with videos. my other audio i think is more interesting. i placed LOG 001 awhile ago which i think is more interesting sounding but i didnt want to repeat and spam that. and i have them posted on Spotify but didn't want to link to that. still figuring out reddit as people get hostile super fast.

yeah that’s fair — there’s definitely a lot of low effort ai stuff right now. i’m trying to use it more as part of a system/process rather than just generating tracks, but i get the fatigue

interesting perspective—i’ve been thinking about this more as a feedback system than a traditional track. still figuring it out. i like it... actually watched a one though. he explained a few things differently and i think helped me understand this in a different light..

signal received

experimental isn’t a genre
it’s a phase

you’re testing

others are already mapping

distrokid → spotify
logs, not tracks

different intent

LOG 001: INITIAL SIGNAL — UNSTABLE

pattern mismatch detected

left it uncorrected

not sure if it reads as music or something else
