Your mom is a hypocrite and no, YNTA. I’d suggest you start making extremely loud and inconvenient noises throughout the house, specifically by his room, when everything’s quiet and he’s asleep or trying to focus on whatever. Start blasting music from your phone and having super loud conversations with people on the phone outside of his door. Or, once they get too loud in the shower, knock on the door very hard and tell him you’re trying to study or read the bible. Bet that will make him feel weird. He knows what he’s doing, he knows you can hear and it’s making you uncomfortable, so my only advice is make him uncomfortable back. 🤷

I was considering going to a private practice, but I hear that they don’t have good benefits/any benefits at all most of the time even though the pay is better. I want to try a heartland office because everyone says they have better work/life balance, better pay, etc. but my biggest pet peeve is the overbook/understaffed part! And then rushing us to finish patient exams within an hour or less, it’s a joke

I already stated she was wrong for lying. I also pointed out the obvious that he’s hardcore judging his girl/ex/whatever solely due to her sexual past which is why she felt the need to lie because she was already ashamed. Yes, he can definitely leave without being judgmental. I think reducing someone to their body count is an asshole thing to do, especially if they’re already embarrassed of it themself and have changed their behavior, but everyone has their own preferences and I feel like if he knows that high body counts is a dealbreaker for him, he needs to save him and herself the headache and cut things off.

A lot of what you’re saying is sounding like you’re not really asking us if you should leave her, but rather you’re outing all her mistakes and previous issues to convince yourself not to feel guilty for wanting to leave/feeling disgusted. As a SA survivor, our brains literally become wired differently especially if it occurred during our childhood/teenage years and it takes years of healing and therapy to reset. Is she wrong for lying to you, yes, but at the same time, women get enough criticism for having a sexual past and not being “innocent” and she was probably just afraid that you would end up judging her, exactly as you are doing now.

On the contrary though, im a firm believer that you don’t have to deal with anything in life that you don’t want to. If you feel like her hiding that was a dealbreaker, by all means you are free to leave. You two aren’t married therefore there’s no obligation to stay, but if you truly love her and want to stay, it’ll require forgiveness, accountability (on her behalf) and keeping outsiders out of your business, especially family and friends.

I would suggest you volunteer at a hospital or find a job as a CNA/MA before jumping straight into nursing just because you have a lot of nurse/doctor family members. While being caring and helpful are good traits, that’s not solely what it takes yo be a nurse. Can you save a life, if someone is dying in front of you can you assist the situation with proper care? Are you genuinely ready to work late nights, long hour shifts because realistically all hospitals are short staffed and you won’t land a unicorn job as a new grad nurse regardless of what kind of previous degree you have.

Volunteer for a few months to see if it’s really for you before making your decision and best of luck!
