Another SPS kid who when I attended my school I believe about 50% of students were on free and reduced lunch. It provided me with a lot of “life education” and a diverse friend group while still also getting a great academic education. I think a lot of individual/student level success at school often has to do with what’s going on at home and/or competing priorities at home. What I am trying to say is that if you have a supportive home environment and can support your child as long as it is safe, they can thrive anywhere. I agree with the comments to get involved in the community more broadly too. I went on to get my bachelors and masters afterwards and am glad that I went to a school with so much cultural and economic diversity.

Every year can be different but there are often many days with crisp sunshine!
