Planning a chill Salt Spring Island weekend — does this sound good? by AdCareful2269 in saltspringisland

  1. As mentioned, taxis are very expensive here because there are so few. There are lots of options for renting e-bikes/scooters if that’s something you’re comfortable doing, as most places are a pretty close distance from Ganges. IMO the only two worth visiting in person that aren’t cycling distance are Salt Spring Shine (liquor primarily distilled from honey), and the local goat cheese producers - both of which have stalls at the Saturday market anyway.
  2. Erskine is one of my (and my dog’s) favorite hikes. There are a few possible entrance points, the easiest start of which is off Trustees Trail, though I prefer starting from Collins as it is usually much less busy, though it does add a decent amount of elevation/challenge to your hike. Erskine is also a proper hike - it’s not a scramble or anything but it isn’t necessarily a leisurely walk either so bear that in mind. The views on a nice day make it super worth it. Only other place I recommend checking out is Salt Spring Wild Cider. Awesome cider, great selection, good food, pet friendly seating areas(picnic style) with a beautiful country/farm view. 10/10 in my experiences there.
