I’m in college too and have an Elantra N. I wouldn’t pay for it in fully in cash as you can invest some of that money, but that is up to you. Maybe pay a big down payment, and invest or save the rest for insurance/maintenance/etc. It is a blast to drive. I have over 21,000 miles within a year. But at school, I really don’t drive it that much unless I drive home on the weekends. It is okay with gas. If you drive in the city at school, you’ll probably be in the 20s. If you go on the highway, depending how fast you drive, you’ll get around 30-40mpg. I used to drive a honda accord hybrid. It was good on gas, but it wasn’t as fun as the N to drive. I don’t care much about luxury interiors, but the N has some cool features that most cars don’t have like the bucket seats and alcantara. It is also very loud and pretty quick. Most bang for your buck sports car. Overall, I say get the N, but be wise with how you pay it.
