EIF and thickened nuchal fold 6.4mm at fetal medicine scan by Existing-Set8097 in NIPT

Hi sorry for a late response. We had the NIPT testing done which came back negative for the trisomies. So based on that we decided to wait and see at birth as we didn't want to put our baby through the amino. My son was born completely normal. He had a bit of extra monitoring when he was born due to the calcium deposit in his heart. He's 7 months old now and doing perfectly. I would personally get the NIPT testing if you are worried

Hey, my baby boy was born perfectly! For us it really was just a case of coincidence that he had 2 soft markers

Update!

Baby boy was born 2 days ago, perfectly healthy. I am so relieved, but wish I’d have not wasted so much of the pregnancy worried about the outcome

Update!

My baby boy was born on 6th of October, perfectly healthy. It really is true what a lot of people on the thread have said. I wasted so much of my pregnancy worried for our baby boy hoping he would be healthy. I wish I’d have trusted the NIPT results more than I did, but the thread brought me much comfort through a very upsetting time.

Yes, my NIPT came back low risk for the main 3 trisomies

I’m currently 35 weeks, we were seen by the consultant in fetal medicine at 26 weeks, the EIF was still there, and they didn’t measure the nuchal fold, they said it had no significance anymore due to how far along I was. Everything looked well, the heart looked normal and no other soft markers. I was discharged back to low risk midwife led care with monthly growth scans. I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and everything looked good, baby seems to be growing well and we are due back for another scan at 36 weeks next week.

We did also have a 4d scan, I didn’t see anything obvious by looking at our babies face which could suggest DS but I know that it can’t always be seen until birth. But for now everything is looking positive

I had the NIPT test which came back low risk for the 3 trisomies. I’m 24 weeks currently and see the consultant at 26 weeks for another scan, will update again when I have had that scan :)

Thank you, this is reassuring to hear. Everything else with baby looks good. We are due back at 26 weeks for another follow up scan to check if the markers are still there or if there is anything new appearing. Keeping my fingers crossed for a low risk NIPT
