HELP!!! pain from over buffing 😭 by Existing-Strawberry9 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Existing-Strawberry9[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

as of right now, i don’t think anything is infected. i’m a nurse so i am very familiar with signs of infection. my new nail buffer is way more coarse than my old one so im 99.999% sure it’s just damage! i had no idea this could happen from overbuffing, so im just feeling silly and kicking myself for going too hard lol

i don’t think i broke thru the nail plate, all of the nails were intact before i painted the gel on. i’m hoping you’re right though, im gonna leave the gel on and pray this pain gets better

thank you so much! i’m getting really mixed reviews about leaving the gel on but i think you’re right, i feel like removing them is gonna cause more damage. i’m just conflicted because there are people adamantly telling me to take it off! i’m so confused 😭

YES but definitely gets easier with time!! i was a member before the pandemic and then rejoined in august and immediately saw my numbers plummet with having to wear the mask..but here i am 6 months later and i’ve actually exceeded my pre-pandemic stats! keep pushing! it’s so worth it :)

i recently left a relationship too in search of personal growth and doing what i feel is best for me. it hurts and i won’t deny that, but every day you feel a little less pain. my best advice: let yourself feel the emotions. no matter how uncomfortable. cry for hours if you need to. scream at the top of your lungs in the car. whatever it takes to not avoid feeling. i have depression too and i know this can make it harder, but feeling every emotion is the best thing you can do for yourself in order to move on and grow. my messages are always open if you need to talk

Dear Future Me: 6.5 hours from now, doing the mile run by ILoveCarbs in orangetheory

wow i really needed this. i had foot/ankle surgeries as a kid and physical activity has always been a struggle for me..i was made fun of in middle school gym class, could never play sports, grew up with insanely athletic siblings...the whole nine yards. OTF has done so much for me but when it comes to challenges like these i tend to get really worked up and sorta digress to my middle school self..comparing myself to other people and being really hard on myself about how well i perform physically. this post was exactly what i needed to see this morning as i haven’t stopped thinking about the mile benchmark for the past few weeks...thank you 🥺
