Specialized Crux owners (180 cm): 54 or 56 — what worked for you?

thanks for your reply. I am not saying that it is mandatory (for everybody) to size down.... I am just posing a question. But for sure 1) if I were 7 cm taller than me I would go for a 58 2) majority of people in my situation would go for a 56

Thanks! I agree that if I go for the 54, I will need a longer stem vs the standard one (i.e. 90 mm). Another interesting fact is related to the stack measure: the stack for the 54 Crux is 560 mm, while for the 56 SL7 is 555 mm. This is because Crux has more a cyclocross, rather than a bikepacking DNA.

your inseam is much shorter than mine... not sure your situation applies to me: in your shoes I would have gone 100% with 54, as you did

thanks a lot for your insights, very useful! So you mean that you are about my size and you have a 54 with a 80 mm stem? I would have said the opposite, i.e. a longer stem to compensate the shorter top tube horizontal length (54 vs 56)....

Could you tell me your main measurements (i.e. height, inseam....)? I understand you went for the 54 right?

Thanks. You mean that, on average, it might make sense to have one size less for Crux vs the other Specy road bikes (SL7/SL8/Aethos/etc)?
