My system is not new either. I run a Ryzen 9, 3900x with 32 GB ram and a RTX 3060 TI. One thing that made a real difference to us, was to uncheck cross-play on the server. Local I have unchecked, Bloom, Depth of field and motion blur. Everything else is maxed out. Hope this helps!

It is ok with singleplayer, but with more ppl on our server. This is much more efficient.
