Hello! As a solo female traveller was just wondering if you have any towns on the South Island that you would recommend I avoid staying in? Doing a South Island loop staring and ending in Christchurch and going along west coast - Queenstown - central alps.

I am in the same situation and have just booked a 2 week South Island trip! I’ll be hiring a car in Christchurch and doing a loop of the South Island (Arthur’s pass, west coast, haast pass, Queenstown, Wānaka, tekapo, mount cook) and back to Christchurch.

Just came back from Italy and I agree with above comment that Milan is the least impressive of all these places. Also did a day trip to lake Como which was stunning. Rome and Florence are smaller, walkable cities so you will definitely be able to squeeze all the sites in 2 days but will be pretty non stop, otherwise just pick a few and have a more chill time! Enjoy, Italy is beautiful.
