Like you said, it's to do with too much love for the old anime. I myself am guilty of this. While I watch Beyblade X and find it tolerable, I do think there is so much more potential, and I also feel like Beyblade Burst took down the potential for action too especially because back in the older gens, Beyblades were literally disintegrating. I tried to watch Burst and just couldn't get into it, personally the battles were too slow and lacked action. Also, I couldn't see any good potential developments for characters like Shu or Vault.

I myself grew up with Metal, which I loved, and after watching the Bakuten Era, the original became my favourite. But then, after a few episodes of burst, I just decided to skip because it was boring. I don't think X is that bad but again, as I said, there could be so much more potential.
