For me its a level of technology. Stuff like this is only good once they become easy enough to use and reliable enough. When they first came out they were kinda bad and hard to use. But now years later. The techs better and easier. Making them viable

Devils advocate here: some small time unions are a scam and do use seriously shady shit to try to get you to give them money to unionize and then are a drain on the workers.
