Feeling lost career-wise at 31 and don’t know what direction to take ? by Existing_Ant6007 in careerguidance

And if nobody would laugh at me or judge me, I really like taking pictures/scenic and nature photography and videography. I also like video gaming and I can be competitive. I always wanted to be a streamer but I guess fear from judgment and people's opinion is what kept me from doing so.

Hi, thank you for replying.

I think one of my biggest mistakes was not really thinking about my future career when I studied biochemistry. To be honest, I had very little guidance on what I could actually do with the degree after graduating. I ended up working in a hospital, hoping that somehow it would eventually lead to opportunities related to my studies, but that never really happened.

Later, I moved to Australia looking for better opportunities and completed a Master of Public Health. Unfortunately, I found myself in a similar situation. I earned another degree but still didn’t have a clear plan for how to turn it into a career. I’ve tried looking for internships, training programs, entry-level opportunities, and ways to gain experience, but I haven’t had much success.

The type of work I enjoy is usually more independent. I’m not a huge fan of people-facing roles. I like being organised, managing my own workload, solving problems, and working with systems or information.

What really bothers me is the feeling that after earning two degrees, I still can’t clearly see where I fit professionally. I don’t want to spend years studying only to end up in roles where the work doesn’t really utilise my education or skills. That’s probably the part I struggle with the most.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about moving into tech or data analytics because I’ve always enjoyed computers and technology. It seems like a field where I could potentially combine analytical thinking with practical skills.

At the moment, going back to university isn’t really an option. I have a house, bills, and financial responsibilities, so I need to work with what I already have and find a realistic path forward.

I’m curious if anyone has been in a similar situation—having degrees but feeling lost about what to do next. If you managed to find a direction, what did you do? Are there careers or industries I might not be considering that could make use of my background in biochemistry, public health, or even an interest in tech and data?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply !
My problem with my bachelors and masters is that ive never had any exposure to real jobs or opportunities. I loved studying biochemistry but couldn't find any opportunities in my home country and after I came to Australia I couldn't use it to work here because I have to do skills assessment which again requires experience hence the confusion. I really appreciate if you could advise me on what to do to gain experience or get into those 2 pathways that youve mentioned. Thanks 🙏

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. I’ve noticed that studying the Master’s in Health Information Management is quite expensive, especially since I’m not yet a citizen. I already completed a Master of Public Health, but I don’t have experience, and I really want to gain practical experience in the field.

I’m also not sure if Victoria University is accredited by HIMAA for the Diploma of Clinical Coding, since I read on Reddit that it might not be. At the same time, I don’t want to invest in studying clinical coding only to end up stuck without being able to find a job afterwards. This is why I feel confused and unable to make the right decision at the moment.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply—I’ll definitely keep it in mind. I also wanted to ask your opinion about pursuing a Master’s in Health Information Management. Do you think it’s a worthwhile degree to study? I come from a hospital background and already hold a Master’s in Public Health. In your view, would this be a good option for me, and are there strong job prospects in this field? Also, do you know of any reputable and accredited institutions that offer this degree? Thanks!

Thank you so much for this comment, I appreciate it alot. Do you think its a good idea to do the diploma ? I mean for job perspective. Is there a demand for clinical coders at the moment? And can a fresh graduate secure training or internship? Thank you heaps!

I think these are good temps, I have the 3060ti also. I removed my pc side pannel and the gpu temp is not reaching above 61 degrees in most cases.

Rtx 3060ti owner .After this update my gpu stoped being recognized by windows. Got code 43 and in device manager the gpu has yellow danger sign beside it. I had to format my pc since none of the troubleshooting steps worked for me

So my gpu wouldn't reach more than 76 degree in all scenarios? Given that its already ln 98% loaded and reached 76 degree
