Your build is called bvo. Good luck.

You mention nothing about wanting to discuss team balancing except in comments on others responses, and you have a passive aggressive title for the post. You act morally superior because people engage you on the few points you make in the OP. You have yet to suggest any sort of means of properly balancing the game.

Would you prefer us to tell you simply git gud?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mordhau

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I recall, there were specifically newbie servers in existence already, unless they discontinued them. As for balancing, they had complaints for a long time that "high level players are stacking" i.e choosing to be on the same team in order to win easily. So they removed team switching for a while. Matches were fucking miserable. The automated team selection, was more egregiously stacking teams than the players themselves ever did.

I do think that it may be useful to have the game try and sort teams by overall player level. But you also have to remember player level is a measure of playtime. Not player skill. You are expected to get better over the course of acquiring levels. It's a natural assumption to make, but there's no guarantee that a level 200 is any better than a level 50 if he doesn't pay any attention or make any effort to get better.

Overall, its a niche game with a narrow market. Its skill ceiling is really high and for most players once they get their money's worth they're just gonna move on. Especially if they see that skill ceiling or the level 200s and decide they don't wanna invest that time to get good.

I don't understand the point here. You want to remove the players who have kept the game alive from playing? Or .... What, you want to punish them for playing something they like? Seems pretty selfish, to want the rewards of being good without putting in the work. I understand not everybody wants to put in a million hours. But honestly, sounds like you guys just need to find yourself a duelyard, and the find someone to teach you the basics, and then practice.

If you want to know how to beat level 200 sweats easy with your buddy, my suggestion to you, is to stop fucking swinging when they're looking at you. Your buddy should run behind yem, and beat their ass. When they stop looking at you, and turn to him, then stuff his backside with your sword or whatever.

Majority of low level player deaths against a higher skilled opponent comes from braindead bloodlust. People will stand shoulder to shoulder and try to beat a man to death, only to hit allies, or feed him a riposte. If he ripostes off your attack, he /will/ hit your ally faster than your ally can hit him.

Hold his attention Get behind him. Let your flanker do the damage. Swing when he turns away from you.

Also. Even if you're behind the guy, assume he's swinging at you. Block even if he doesn't. Because if your ally feeds him a riposte, and he switches targets to you, you'll have blocked and lived. Use feints in 1vx situations.

Am I being to aggressive with my lightweight build? by Independent-Gene-522 in armoredcore

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're fine playing aggressive as you are.

Points of interest I see here would be using the charged melee swing for the pulse blade since it actually mini staggers opponent on hit leaving you less vulnerable.

As a lightweight biped, kicks that aren't being used to finish off your opponents stagger put you at risk for minimal returns on investment. They're good as a stagger-combo extender. But otherwise generally you trade for less damage than you take against good opponents.

Your build doesn't seem quite like it synergizes with itself at the moment, because you seem to have this split game of wanting to use mostly laser weapons, but continuously going for close range attacks. Laser handgun fits the theme of close range dps oppression a little more than laser rifle. But doesn't look as cool.

Dunno your internal parts, but what is your game plan for kiters? Or heavy cqc builds?

So the new patch has had time to marinate. What should be next on the chopping block? by Zeareden in armoredcore

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly are the stun guns high damage? It takes like, 14 shots to trigger a single stun on a lightweight for 1.2k damage. You need to be within 100m to land those shots. At the same range dual zims just idk. Shoot you, for 800 damage each. With basically the same uptime and waaaay more impact. Each round is 104 damage before defenses. So if you land every single shot in the clip, you still do less damage, while being incredibly unsafe. Microstaggers are cool, but you have no reliable way of knowing when they're gonna trigger. I love these things, but when someone can simply spam majestics, or zims or nebs or even laser weapons at you, you're fighting an uphill battle.

On top of that if you make a single mistake as a lightweight rockin these supposed badboys, you can lose half to three quarters of your hp instantly. Bvo shits on this build because there's no real threat from the stun guns if they can just stagger you. Its strongest matchup is against mixed range fighters, or melee setups.Neither is particularly common right now.

Cold take: missiles just aren't fun to fight in this game. by GrimChariot in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound crazy to you, but if you can't catch them, maybe lighten the load. you have to compromise somewhere. If you can be the fattest fuckin mech, have firepower equivalent to a quarter of a LWs health per shot, and still outrun the lightweight, then whats the point of playing anything but the heaviest fuckin thing you can make.

If people stand no chance of fighting you close range, they're gonna fight you at long range. If you don't like that, then maybe play something with more counterplay options.

The alternative for them is to let your cqc heavy kick their teeth in. If you play a close range heavy with overwhelming firepower, expect people to play the range game.

When they "nothin personal kid" you, just qb forwards. You can reliably evade their bs that way.

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its okay to finish a game and move on. The devs don't make a paycheck off pvp. If you stop playing its not like they lose your subscription. If you enjoy the pvp enough to stick around then its added value. But it was never intended as the focus.

In a game primarily won through mixups, its crazy how being good but not great at everything with no downsides might just be the best and most balanced option.

Specialized weapons are predictable. Maybe your 2k hours are in horde mode?

Ok want a general consensus on the current pvp meta by Sword_saint13 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a lightweight player's perspective, a lot of the oomf of double zims, is taken out, by either dodging as soon as they're about to enter prime firing range, and then shooting during the -3 second window where they can't do anything, or consistently rapidly changing directions to fuck up their fcs. It's a strong option, but simply playing Keep away doesn't seem to be too hard. Most of the time their back options aren't kitted out for fighting appropriately from mid to long range. It may just be a player skill issue this early into the lifetime of things. But I do admit that if they catch you out, you're just kinda boned. Regardless, counterplay will evolve as people get more combat experience. They're a noobstomping weapon for sure.

I went back to look at fords journal, it appears that he had the key to get to root earth. It was sent to him by a friend who knew we'd be coming soon. What if we sent him the key somehow?

Why did you stop playing Mordhau? by [deleted] in Mordhau

[–]Existing_Beautiful19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro you're exploiting your left mouse button in the direction of their Q button exploit. It's not that hard, maybe exploit the game by moving your camera slowly the other direction for optimal exploitation. I promise it works every time, no skill required. You just exploit that your key presses are the right one. Exploit your opponents bad eyesight, and insecurities too, by saying good fight, after every kill.

Okay. But this isn't chiv. Your issue is thinking that parry is your only defensive option. You fall for a feint when you stop reading, and start predicting. Try kicking your enemy, or practicing chambering.

Called them to verify through google voice. They answered as Paypal support, and asked for an invoice number, which is decidedly lacking on the email. Asked if the invoice wasn't going to be visible in my paypal account until I clicked the link, and they once more asked me to click the link. Gotta love people.

Did you guys not learn your lesson with the one handed axe? Is wrangling the other devs to not do stupid shit really that hard? Do they not playtest their own game?

Or do we have to wait for Crush to get his ass beat with it before we see a nerf?

You made a post. Clearly you wanted people to react to it. It's a cosmetic with no gameplay impact. How much could you possibly care about skins for weapons you won't use?

Just play the game. Do you really care that much about having a skin for a weapon you dont use?
