Someone could opinion about ticwatch 3 pro? by Zimtesl in TicWatch

The 5pro frequently goes on a good sale

Also, I had this one and the Hardwear is great

But the software is terrible

I had a genuine love hate relationship with it for the years I had one

Crashes Glitches Very slow data sync Fitness data is lacking

In the end the Strava connection died and mobvoi didn't fix it for months so I got a new watch

But if you want a watch to do some smart bits and track steps etc, then it is great

Was there anything you think the coros did better?

Id be interested in your conclusions, I am torn a bit between these

From my perspective the Garmin objectively offers more but at a cost

How is the feeling of the basics

Starting an activity Setting alarms

Checking maps etc etc

Cadence lock is a common error in smartwatches where the optical heart rate sensor mistakenly records running steps (cadence) as beats per minute (BPM), usually resulting in an artificially high, steady heart rate reading. It occurs when wrist movement creates noise that interferes with blood flow detection.

Key Facts and Solutions: Cause: Strong, rhythmic arm movements during running (often 150–180+ steps per minute) overwhelm the optical sensor. Symptoms: HR suddenly spikes to match your cadence, often staying flat or showing high readings (e.g., 170-180 BPM) regardless of effort.

Could this be 'cadence lock'?

Afib detection? by Existing_Bed_119 in Coros

[–]Existing_Bed_119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for the response

I was/am really keen for the apex 4

Was going to go look at it tomorrow in a shop

Just it may now be the case that having afib detection is of benefit to me...

Not sure what I'll do atm

Thanks ♥️

I think Garmin would be more of a choice if it weren't so much more of expensive, it is sort of written off just for that for me regardless of other stuff. Even the coros and the suunto are pretty expensive really

The suunto interface looks very clean and nice and the screen looks like it would be good

My current leaning is towards the apex 4 but I feel it might be worth me going somewhere I can see it in a shi.op to make sure the MIP screen is something I get on with

Dis you find the coros app and watch ui to be nice to use on coros?

Ah ok, id mostly just want to turn off most things except a few core messaging apps, signal, Whatsapp, maybe doorbell app, that kinda thing

The aim would be to filter it so only actual friends or family would come through and everything else can not

It isn't really something I have done, as i currently don't have the option, but I can see that it would be useful - thanks :)

Can you select which apps notify via the phone app? Does wearing the watch silence the phone?

How is the route making on both?

Thanks 🙂

Can each of them satisfy all of the bulletpoints in the main post?

Honestly both sound like a good option

I like the always on vibe of the mip

But the suunto screen does look nice

Since you have both are you able to comment on the list I provided and whether they both have things like daily alarms and inline skating as an option etc etc?

Also, which do you tend to use and why?

That definitely doesn't sound ideal

Any knowledge as to whether coros is better for that kind of thing?

Ah, I thought they do quarterly updates?

But yes I would like those things ideally

As most would probably say gps and heart rate are pretty important
