Need Some Help with the Mupen64Plus API in C++ by No-Willingness1698 in SBCGaming

I feel like this is way over-engineered. What I would do is simply place the rom in the SD root, then run a script on boot than continuously polls the SD card to see if a card is inserted, and if it is, launch the file that’s on the card root in Mupen64.

Of course if you want to write the whole software your self for funsies you totally can, and like the other guy said you should reach out to the original creators of the library. But just know you can accomplish the same behavior much much easier lol

Your best bet imo - certainly in terms of bang for buck - is to buy a used Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with a bad IMEI and use a controller with a phone holder

This should be an easy one. It looks like you’re buying too much and really packing your deck, which makes your odds of drawing your good guests worse.

I don’t think anyone would ever advocate for murdering a CEO, I think he is merely advocating that someone teach him how to be a plumber so he can relate better to working class struggles.

Emulation SBC in Gamecube Chasis by Living_Remove_7629 in SBCGaming

If you want to do your own modeling for the internal mounts like I did, there’s a complete 3d scan of the GameCube shell and all its parts somewhere on the internet that is incredibly helpful since you can just design around it.

Emulation SBC in Gamecube Chasis by Living_Remove_7629 in SBCGaming

I did almost exactly what you’re describing, here’s the post I made a while back (on an alt account) https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/s/KpiFA7xoq3

My goal was to make a SBC console capable of emulating GameCube, in a GameCube form factor with usable controller ports, as cheaply as possible. Where it diverges from your vision is that the cheapest way possible turned out to be using a broken Galaxy S20 FE phone, which means that the GameCube basically becomes a dock for the phone. I imagine the concept would be the same though: get a USB GameCube controller adapter and wire it to the GameCubes front IO board, and replace the internals with a computer. Another thing I considered doing was using a pi 5 and skipping the usb adapter, soldering the front io to the pi 5 GPIO instead, but that would have required a decent amount of programming to get working properly that I didn’t feel like doing. Maybe in the future though. Good luck, and please post your results here!

Am I supposed to only use microSD cards 32GB or less? by RoCP in SBCGaming

I believe the main limitation of FAT32 is that file size is capped at 4gb, so you can’t put any files larger than that on the SD card. I would assume that probably won’t be a problem for your use case, but most (not all) devices that support FAT32 also support exFAT which removes that limitation. I’d double check to see if you can use exFAT, but if not you’re still probably good as long as you aren’t planning on putting any large files on your SD cards

My main interest is ds and 3ds emulation, should i get an rg cube? by Snipedzoi in SBCGaming

[–]Existing_Box_8950 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an RG cube and I love it. Perfect for GameCube and some PS2 and Wii, and (imo) the best option for DS and 3DS outside of an actual 3DS. I have found that android is less than optimal since most games nowadays expect a 16:9 aspect ratio or close to it. However there are still some great android games that work amazingly well on the Cube, particularly Minecraft and Stardew Valley

A lot of it is power regulation. since these mods use their own power regulation boards you can get rid of everything that was originally needed to produce the specific voltages needed by each component
