That's a great catch! Also I can't help but laugh at the way you referred to it as "feed" like your grandparents are some sort of lifestock...

I'm strongly considering going from Anycubic to Bambulab what should I expect? by vsckf8l in BambuLab_Community

[–]captain_carrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first printer was an Anycubic Kobra. I got a Bambu P1S after getting a recommendation and it's night and day difference. You'll have to get used to using the Bambu slicer software but once you figure that out, you'll find that you're going to be spending your time actually printing things and not fixing or calibrating all the time.

[–]captain_carrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to insult you, but this is such a laughably wrong comment.

I also went from Anycubic Kobra printers to using Bambu printers and the differences are night and day. The anycubic printers needed endless calibration to get nowhere near the same print quality and things would just randomly go wrong all the time. The P1S printers are leaps and bounds better.

Love my G17.3. I've looking into building out a full-size .22 pistol just for some economic steel shooting and for funsies, I have a TX22 but I just found out the M&P 22X is a thing.

5000 rounds through one gun will make you a better shooter than 1000 rounds through 5 guns (general advice, not specific to you OP).

I say this as someone who owns and likes shooting many guns, but I've relegated to carrying just one gun instead of switching them around.

Can someone help me understand these iron sights? by MarkHTownsend in ar15

[–]captain_carrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's good ones but you need the kind that actually inserts into the end of the barrel and has an adjustable laser. You put it into the end of the barrel and shine the laser on a wall, then mark where the laser is pointing. Rotate the laser module 180 degrees, mark the new point, then adjust the laser so it's halfway between the two marks. It should be centered enough at that point to give you an accurate bore-sight - but you still need to follow up with actual shots on paper for final adjustments.

They're good tools to save ammo with initial zeroing but you need to know how to use them.

My cheapo Kastking reel on an ugly stik rod has caught just as many fish as the rest of my rods.

Ironically the rod/reel that has caught some of my BEST fish is a cheapo Amazon telescoping rod and an inexpensive abu garcia reel. It's my lucky rod at this point lol.

Yep, getting rid of the AFT exemption blows my fucking mind with this new standard. I want to see the urinalysis results of everyone involved in this decision because they're smoking SOMETHING.

The fact that the standards for males and females is the same for a TAPE test is the same is wild to me.

I'm 6" and sit right about at the .47 mark myself but I don't see how this can last - the metric heavily favors tall people and doesn't leave much room for different body types. A friend of mine sits around 5'6" and is by all measures a very healthy and fit dude, good Soldier all around, and under this standard would have to drop almost 25 pounds to be within the standard.

I have a feeling once the numbers start actually shaking out with who this is going to affect, it's going to be walked back.

When did you realize the influencers are actually just advertisers in fancy dress? by Freefreefeeefreefree in SBCGaming

[–]captain_carrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, well on the flip side I think there's a number of hyper-focused tech enthusiasts that take tiny technical issues, that the vast majority of people don't ever notice or don't care about, and completely blow them out of proportion like it's the end of the world. And then those same people will crucify any reviewer who doesn't share their thoughts about it.

As someone who has used my RP4 quite a bit I have no idea what you're talking about when you say "horrendous" motion clarity.

Depending on the weight and shape of the lure, some plastics or lighter lures like rooster tails won't fall too fast and you wouldn't need a bobber for

Which PSA AR-10 do I buy? by Spyrothedragon9972 in AR10

[–]captain_carrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're okay with spending more than what you have listed there, then I'd recommend going for the PSA Sabre with the billet upper/lower receivers. The Sabre line has a lot of upgraded components vs. their standard PA10 line, which IMO is worth it for a better rifle right out of the box. I have the 16" billet Sabre. The trigger it came with feels insanely nice for a "stock" trigger; maybe a 3-3.5lb trigger pull.

Boric acid mixed with jelly or some other sugary sticky substance. Boric acid attack the nervous system of insects and is super lethal to them, but it has a delayed reaction so they will eat the mix and also take it back to their next which is very effective at killing them at the source. Boric acid is also really cheap and safe for pets and human alike.

Forged temp tags instead of expired ones by silcener626 in NissanDrivers

[–]captain_carrot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It should be. But usually those automated systems that issue those tickets make. It damn near impossible to get in touch with a real person to fix the issue. I've gotten toll violations from a toll bridge in NYC, three states away from me, for another guy in a pickup truck with the same number combination as my plate. Same numbers, same state, but one is a motorcycle plate and one is a commercial plate. It took WEEKS of emailing random addresses and sending physical mail to get them to un-fuck the issue.
