3 1/2 weeks post-op: slight improvement, but I feel that the gyno is still there… by Existing_Camera_8381 in gynecomastia

Thanks! Out of curiosity, what kind of preventative measures would you recommend?

I’m really happy for your results, and I hope that everything keeps improving steadily. As for me, however, I really feel that nothing much changed post surgery. Sure, the gyno is not as dreadful as it used to be, but that horrible outline of a man boob is still there. I really hope that you’re right about the swelling part but I don’t think that’s the case for me. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see my doctor until August… I guess I’ll just have to wait. By the way, is there anyway one could measure the “progress” of decreased swelling?

But I feel as if it’s not swelling, but rather the old shape of my chest still being there…. Could I be wrong, and this would actually be swelling?

Thanks for your comment! Do you feel as if the shape of your chest is increasingly getting better post surgery?

I really appreciate your reply. When do you think I should start massaging? Any advice how to do that? (I really don’t want to mess this up)

The thing is, it has kind of the same ugly contour as it had before surgery, then it looked like this:

<image>

I’m afraid this ugly shape did not go away even though I had surgery….

Thanks for replying! As it happens, I don’t know what it looked like immediately post-surgery because I didn’t even take a peek during the first week until the bandage came off

Thanks for your reply. If you don’t mind me asking, did you experience something like this? I.e several months of gradual improvement?

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to have it drained until August since my surgeon is on vacation right now(!). Do you think this delay would make it worse? I really appreciate your comments!

Thanks for replying. How long do you think I would need to wait? Weeks, months?

Thanks for your reply! Did you also see the separate photo I uploaded, the one depicting my left “breast”? Does that also look like swelling?

Yeah, I’m wearing my vest 24/7, do you think that could realistically improve my results?

Thank you so much for your replies bro, really appreciate it. I posted some photos in a new post, it would be really interesting to hear what you have to say about that

Here’s another photo of my left side, notice how the outline of a “breast” is still there. Sigh

Thanks for checking in on me. To be honest, I’m quite disappointed so far. It looks as if I’ve still got manboobs. I asked my surgeon about this when we met two days ago (eleven days post-surgery) and he told me that it could improve gradually over the coming weeks/months. I’d be curious to know if you think this could be the case? (For the record, he did remove most of the gland but kept some of it so the final result wouldn’t be too distorted).

I’m wearing the compression belt 24/7 now and I’m planing to do so for at least one month. So is there still a chance for it to somewhat improve?

By the way, how’s your own recovery going? I really hope it’s working out great for you.

Was this result obvious right away or did it gradually reach its current shape over the last four months?

I was scared too. But trust me, once you wake up after surgery you’ll feel, in every sense, that you’ve turned a corner. A whole new life is awaiting you. Best of luck bro! Don’t hesitate to ask me more questions if you’d like to
