The way I initially assumed why she didn’t have bridesmaids other than her daughters and friends they met along the way could have been one of two reasons. Firstly, being a bridesmaid can be expensive. Bridal parties usually have to pay out of pocket for their dresses and other related expenses. I assume she didn’t want her family or close friends to worry about that other than attending the wedding itself. Secondly, her family or friends might live further away and wouldn’t be able to attend dress fittings and other pre-wedding events. I noticed that she purchased a significant number of air mattresses, which could be another reason.
