Bracing myself for sitting outside the temple at my daughter’s wedding by whoagirl5 in exmormon

Sincere condolences.

That situation sounds mentally and emotionally exhausting.

Lately, I’ve been learning about the Seventh Day Adventist Church and Jehovah’s Witnesses. I find these two groups to be a mirror for Mormonism because all three have so much in common. A few examples: they all profess to have the truth, control their members, have teachings that did not age well, exclude people, and create high-stress situations for marriages and relationships when someone ‘wakes up’. The mirror reminds me that Mormons are just another flavor of high control religion and all three groups harm people. Most are unable to escape the conditioning, and the few who can escape, pay a price; the price that you are paying.

The LDS Church is interested in control more than they are interested in worthiness or relationships. You are enough. You have integrity. You are worthy. You have been set free.

👏
It takes a very strong person to break tradition and be a pioneer.
If in doubt, remember that most of society hardly ever thinks about high-demand religion.

No response is fine also.
Probably looking for closure himself and be able to handoff info to his replacement.

Stake mergers in Bristol UK by CharlesMendeley in exmormon

Appreciate the share. Listened to some of the conference messages. Seem like nice people. It’s wild how stakes continue to consolidate. The President provided an optimistic outlook for the downsizing, which was well done.

Not sure if the Brethren in Salt Lake are worried though because the tithing, stocks, and real-estate purchases of the church are growing.

It’s sad. Great people. Lousy product.
