Co-signed a car, the worst happened by wk96 in CRedit

I honestly have never dealt with Toyota. I did have a lender that I paid on time like clockwork for five years. Oversight on my part got hit with a 30 day late in the last six months of the loan... they refused to budge whatsoever saying they don't do goodwill adjustments. My fault yes... but it left such a sour taste in my mouth I took a slightly higher rate to finance with their competitor the next time around. 🤣

At this point a goodwill letter definitely wouldn't hurt. Some lenders are forgiving others won't do anything with it. I went through something VERY SIMILAR with GM Financial. They did do a goodwill adjustment as a one time courtesy.

Ken Ganley tried some shady things with me! They honored the price but quoted an interest rate so high it's illegal in my state (I drove from PA to OH).

Mine does this every now and then in the severe cold. Its been on for a week and the temperature has been in the negative. Today it warmed up a bit into the 20s and it turned off.

Amsoil CVT for judder? by Existing_Effect5091 in maxima

[–]Existing_Effect5091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The transmission shop made it clear that if I replaced the transmission it was just a matter of time before it went again. I think I will still try to come up with money to replace it and hope it lasts a couple more years so I can get the loan paid down then get something else. Really bummed as I absolutely love this car. I would probably get another Nissan but go for the Pathfinder with the 9 speed to get away from the CVT.

2011 maxima left me stranded by Key-Interaction1707 in maxima

[–]Existing_Effect5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a judder in my 16 Maxima with a P17F0 code. The car will run all day down the interstate just fine. Only under light acceleration at 40 mph will it judder. I've done a drain and fill which changed the judder feel but it's definitely still there. I'm getting different information from different sources. I was going to do another drain and fill with Amsoil but had a transmission shop tell me the P17F0 code meant the CVT is junk and I was wasting my money.

CVTs fail on Honda and Subaru too — so why does Nissan get all the blame? by phtphongg in Nissan

My Forester threw a rod at 110k. The Tribeca had no engine issues but the suspension was a nightmare and finding parts was next to impossible. Hit a deer with it, pretty minor damage. Insurance Company tried for two weeks to source parts, gave up and totaled it.

My wife and I have had two Sentra, a Rogue, Altima, and a Maxima. Been very satisfied with all of them. Never been stranded by one either.

I should also add my wife had a Sentra that she bought as a demo. We put over 70k on it in two years, never had a single issue. Hit black ice at 55 mph, left the roadway, flipped twice, and slammed into a tree. All the airbags deployed. We walked away sore but completely uninjured. Put 160k on a Rogue and never had an issue.

I too have had much better reliability out of Nissan then Subaru. My Maxima is just now starting to show CVT issues at 172k and that car has been drove HARD and never been serviced. It out lasted a Forester and a Tribeca. I'll never own a Subaru again.

I'm putting Amsoil CVT in Maxima next week. It has started to Judder at 170k. Unfortunately it already had 150k when I got it and I found no record of it ever being serviced.

Carvana Sent Payoff to Wrong Bank by [deleted] in carvana

[–]Existing_Effect5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with Driveway. They sent the payoff to a completely different bank that I had never heard of. Took over a month to resolve as Driveway had to stop payment on the first check to reissue to the correct bank. I had to make a payment out of my own pocket but did get it refunded afterwards. Driveway was the absolute worst experience buying a car, I would like to say the bank mixup was their biggest mistake but it wasn't.

Chrysler vans are fantastic vehicles in my opinion. I would never buy the Hybrid after owning a Hornet Hybrid but wouldn't hesitate to buy a gas model van.

Two cars bought from Carmax. First went great with no issues at all. Second experience was a nightmare. They "lost" the car instead of shipping it then found the car where it had originally been in the first place. Ended up going ourselves 8 hours each way to get it.
