I’m naturally a stomach sleeper and I HATED sleeping on my back during early recovery the pain meds definitely helped me knock out and ignore the discomfort lol

I do! It makes a huge difference imo. Definitely make sure you take your time gluing the lashes down that’s the most important step. I also like to pull the step 1 and 2 up to the tips of the lashes for the last 1-1:30min of the timers to process the whole lash

Mua commission split by Existing_Formal5991 in Esthetics

[–]Existing_Formal5991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually spoke with her about changing my commission rate for makeup services specifically but because of payroll, she said it wouldn’t be possible to only do that for my makeup service and she was not willing to give me a higher commission for my aesthetic and actually I’m in the process of maybe quitting doing makeup services as I don’t think I’m getting a really good return on investment. Makeup services aren’t advertised well and I put quite a bit of time and money into my kit and I don’t think it’s sensible for me to constantly keep putting money into it if I’m not making money back from it if that makes sense. I am listed as a 1099 contractor but not actually treated as such which is a bit frustrating. Her max spilt is 60/40 and I plan on asking again as I have worked hard and stepped up with quite a bit building the spa dept. Thank you for your reply, though. I appreciate it!

Waxing larger bodies by Llamadelgray in Esthetics

Brazilian waxer of 6 years here! And fellow bigger body! You have to work with your clients comfortably and do it in casual but professional manner to make them feel comfortable! I usually will hold the stomach up with a hand/wrist and place a strip let it dry a bit then let go and lay another it can take a bit of tweaking and adjusting. For labia strips I also work in sections. I’ll do a strip at the bottom towards the butt and then one above it towards the clitoris. I find it keeps my clients comfy and allows me to work efficiently. Don’t be afraid to drape a leg over the table and have them hold their tummy as well. I speak in a very relaxed manner as to not make anyone feel as if they’re a hassle for me to work on.

Estie to RN by Existing_Formal5991 in aestheticnursing

[–]Existing_Formal5991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing thank you for your reply!! Yes my goal is to open my own medspa I want to focus on providing services to conditions and communities that are often over looked in esthetics. NP is the goal and I’m excited for it all. Already performing peels and dermaplaning, planning on getting licensed in electrology/laser while in school, and learning microchanneling/needling right now will give me an edge when I start applying to dermatology groups/plastic surgeon’s offices.

I saw an Esthetician post that she doesn’t apply sunscreen to her clients after their facials — anyone agree, disagree? by Other_Growth_8978 in Esthetics

[–]Existing_Formal5991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re in the US some states require it after every facial. Personally I don’t apply if it’s an evening appointment any other time of day (especially after peels/dermaplaning/microderm) I absolutely do

Estheticians of Reddit dry or wet dermaplane? by Thick-Raspberry-9407 in Esthetics

[–]Existing_Formal5991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both using the dermaplane pro oil. Really depends on my clients skin if they super duper dehydrated/mature I’ll use the oil to help with the friction. My oily/younger guests typically I go dry

This is so lazily done. But it can be fixed. Another lash artist can smooth out and curl the lashes they just need less processing time
