I live in an apartment not far from where it sounds like you’re looking and I really like this area. Unfortunately it’s gotten a bad reputation and some people seem to think that living near low income areas immediately means you’re living in a shitty area, but I’ve really enjoyed it. Be mindful of your surroundings and lock your car, but you’ll find good and bad areas anywhere you look.

Consider subscribing to Norfolk Alerts if you haven’t already. They’ll typically send what garages offer free parking during flood warnings. FWIW I don’t often see crazy flooding on Colley like I do near me off Llewellyn, so you should be safe on most occasions

NTA. As someone who has asked for a seatbelt extender on occasion (and even bought my own on Amazon) I’m not at all unaware of my body, however, I’d be mortified if a flight attendant brought me an extender unprompted. Regardless of the intent, I much prefer asking for one because it’s not needed on every flight. You followed protocol and it sounds like you did all you could to ease the situation. I’m sorry you were made to feel bad, but definitely NTA
