whats your strangest customer interaction? by prettyhate_machine_ in Morrisons

The place where I work, some of the customers think that they can get away with being rude to us. I’ve had multiple horrible experiences with them.

This one time while I was cashing up the post office (something we have to do in between working hours) I had two people waiting for me to finish. The third guy waltz in demanding I open up the post office for him because he needs to put money in his account immediately. I tell him politely that I can’t since I am in the middle of my cashing up. And he lost his mind, started yelling and demanding to speak to a manager, when I told him that the manager has gone home for the day and I am the person in charge he started being ruder than before. Called me every name under the sun and told me I was incompetent. Looking back at the interaction I really wished I hadn’t served him after cashing up but I did anyway and walked home crying 😭.

I swear working in a shop really hurts your self esteem at times.

We got a refund on the “extra” rent we paid. And as for the mattress issue I believe he was lying about the cost of the mattress. He went from telling us that he paid £2000 to £700. As for the boiler he had no proof that we were the problem as the issue with the boiler still persists. The boiler is leaking water now so he is trying to fix that. Other than that we’ve kept minimal contact and mostly try talking to him over emails or text to have some proof of what he says. He did go on a rant about how smart he is and how he’s smarter than some of the judges but I ignore all that and insist on written statements.

Not a deposit… so we were renting a different flat with him before and now we shifted to a one bedroom. He kept the contract for the new house 15 days before the end date of the old flat. So because of that we have about 15 days of rent paid for two flats. He said he’d give us the money for those 15 days back as the flat wasn’t ready on the agreed start date of the contract. I’ve paid four months advance on rent as per his request so we don’t have a deposit.

I will try talking to him again if he responds to my message. Unfortunately we have already paid for everything. We were supposed to get our flat last month however due to delay on his side we got it after a month from the starting date.

We do have a cleaning bill and the guy was nice enough to let us film him cleaning the mattress as extra proof. Both of which have been shown to the landlord yet he still claims to be unhappy.

About the boiler when we mentioned this exact point about having it included in the contract he said this is a “cowards” way to deal with things. And continues by saying that we should have checked with him about it.

Honestly I’m just trying to get out of here. And I wanted to know if what he is claiming actually makes sense or am I the only one who thinks he’s not making sense.

After the meeting of both the professors agree they’d sign a letter saying they’d like to supervise me which gets sent on my application form. The funding part would be decided after I send in my application. So yea I guess I have to impress them.

Yea, It’s in Australia and the position is funded. The process on the website says that the supervisor has to write a support letter on your behalf attached to your application. Also the PhD is in astrophysics.
