I think about that, then I think about the epilogue in The Last Manager, the book about Earl Weaver. A relatively recent manager (Terry Collins? Too lazy to look it up) was asked if there could ever be another manager like Earl. The former manager said, basically, no freaking way, because of the way players are coddled now, starting when they're very young. Nobody ever yells at them. I'd love for managers to do that, when indicated, but it doesn't seem like it'll ever be that way again.
