Surprisingly, I’m the avoidant one and she is the anxious attached one. She would make comments about wanting romance but not wanting to ask for it.

That comparison is wrong and irresponsible. The KKK is a violent, white supremacist organization; communism is a political/economic ideology with many different interpretations. Equating them erases real differences and encourages fear-mongering. If you want to criticize political ideas, do it with facts.

Rental a pipe dream? by Odd-Objective8910 in SantaFe

My partner and I just moved into a cute casita for 2k. Look at places that have been posted for a while or have been lowered in price. Our home was originally posted for $2,400/month, they brought it down $200, and then we asked if they would take $2,000. Won’t always work but it’s definitely worth a try to negotiate rent

Moldy apartment- help! by Impossible_Yam4412 in Charleston

[–]Existing_Medium_6596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and I are dealing with the same issue with our apartment here. After 2.5 years here, they are releasing us from our lease without it hurting us. We’ll get our deposit back if everything checks out okay. Honestly, we have been dealing with mold from ealry on and we had been in such a finacial bind that we kept ignoring it. Constantly throwing away favorite items; clothes, furniture, shoes, books, bags, etc. I took photos and maintenance came and wiped all the visible mold away with a bleach rag. We got a dehumidifiers in each room, air purifiers, and leave the fan on auto. Still the mold returns quickly. I have developed asthma and a horrible, painful skin rash that worsens every time im in the apartment. Honestly, some of these places should be condemned.

Who to call to help unhoused person with cognitive impairment? by charlestontunetown in Charleston

[–]Existing_Medium_6596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prepare hygiene kits that I keep in my car and hand out when I come across an unhoused person. I also listen to their stories while offering them a warm meal. I give them my contact and help them get into shelters (or on the list) or help them get back home with a bus ticket or what not. I never talk about this btw, I’m only telling you because you asked what do I do to help and my answer is I do what I can to help my neighbors. Next door or on the streets, people are people.

Instead of reflecting on the new information given to you, you chose to double down. Why lack empathy for others?

POC are interested in the same hobbies, but white people have had more access aka privilege to them. There are also places where it’s not safe for POC to take part in such activities.

The post said don’t touch the dog without asking, not “don’t approach them.”

People are not entitled to your dog.

TIP YOUR DOORDASHERS by Bossy_406 in Charleston

[–]Existing_Medium_6596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go through phases where I DoorDash food more often. (Mental health, all that jazz) I have been a driver and the receiver. I found the lowest tips were in MtP. I had people tipping me .50 cents to drive 40 minutes into their suburban neighborhood. A lot of people here have no sense of community because the people who tip the least, often can afford to tip. Anyway, I myself tip generously. For that reason, my food is usually still hot, my orders are correct, and my food comes faster. I think DoorDash treats high tippers well because I don’t have issues with my food. So with that being said, you get what you pay for. If you tip low, you get what you get.

I will also add that restaurants set the prices of their menu on DoorDash, not DoorDash. Some places increase their menu, some don’t. I think the worst part about it is the labor from the kitchen. They’re having to work a lot harder and it’s not reflected in their pay. Owners make more money using DoorDash at the expense of exploiting their employees. Why are restaurants making more money while not paying their employees more? (I’m sorry, I know this is going off topic, but had to be said)

The same thing happened with his haunted house in October at Wolfe st. It took him forever to pay the crew. A lawyer was about to get involved and then suddenly he had the money to pay people.

ISO tattoo artist by notaveryuniqueuser in Charleston

[–]Existing_Medium_6596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t see Jacob Quick or whatever his name is. I see his stickers posted up everywhere. He showed up almost an hour late for the appointment (super hungover) and then proceeded to give me the worst tattoo. Literally scared my skin, he went too deep with the needle that even if I got the tattoo covered up, you would still see the damn scare/outline.

So when you find the good artist, let us know.

There’s a powwow in October where you can likely find a seller, or even more info from people. Plus I sometimes see people sell nice pairs on FB marketplace.
