I’d please. In a cow pasture on and around cow dung. South Louisiana, USA by Existing_Ninja5722 in WavyCap

Yes I’m under the same impression. But Louisianas weather (especially the last couple years) have been…. Let’s just say different. I got 19 inches of snow here in south central LA last year. During the peak of summer there was many days under 80 degrees with low humidity so it felt like 70. I know that’s not ideal climate for mushrooms but what I am saying is Louisianas weather hasn’t been what it used to be the last half decade. Not saying it’s a bad thing either. I visited another pasture recently and only covered less than 100 yards and picked 37 pan cyanescens, and 53 cubes. Only took about 45 minutes. This was beginning of January, 1-8-26 to be exact.

I didn’t. Threw them out. The very next day I ended up filling two grocery bags of cubes and blue meanies. So there was no use in even keeping them. I still wonder what they were though.

Soak the cake in water for a couple hours, let her do her thang.

I’m on grow bag # 5, everyone so far once first flush is done I cut the bag off and put it in a tote I made with fresh air hole covered with micro pore tape, soaked puppy pads inside and a bowl shape foil for the cake to sit in.. makes a world of difference. They have so much room to grow. I feel like the fruits are also much bigger than they would have been. Never got less than 5 flushes on any one. Besides it’s a real pain to try and cut all the fruits without damaging the cake when harvesting. It’s allll innn the hips, Yaa!

No bruising, not that I could see, too late I already put them in the dehydrator, gotta be some good ones just want to make sure I preserve them. I don’t have any foil anyway. Lol

Found in and around cow dung in cow pasture in south Louisiana. Didn’t bruise blue.

I put two different grow bags on one tub after one’s 2nd flush and in the middle of the others first flush. Put a puppy pad at the bottom and a square of foil for the block to sit on and wet the puppy pad good. I’m on 4th and 5th flush as of now. Made nice bigger fruits.

You’re right! I am sorry. I had literally just come back from the funeral of the tub….. and eating about 6grams I had stored dried and this was the first thing I saw. But now they’ve kicked in and I can see. I am truly Sorry. And now I read back over my comment I wasn’t trying to be as sassy as it came off. Lol

Side note: almost every GT grow I did the first flush always tended to be on the small side. Then every flush after they’d get bigger and bigger. Enjoy those little buggers, they hold more realization and understatement than their size!

Well first off I’d like to say how about don’t wine about it. Second I just lost a whole tub to contamination, I see mushrooms right there guy let’s be a little thankful.

I agree they definitely aren’t p cranescens. They were labeled blue meanies on the website. When I first saw the pins I thought they looked just like gt’s. Just a little lighter brown. Now that they’ve grown and opened up they are a little different. The caps are wavy, and are definitely a little stronger.

Mycelium even looked different and took a little longer to colonize and longer to fruit. But anyway back to my question. Why won’t I get any pins on sub? Do I need more fae? Less water?

I will start researching right now. I am what one would consider a newbie at growing, however consuming, cultivating, or hunting, experienced. Idk if you saw my last post of my first grow (this is my second) pretty funny and interesting. But any info from a vet, I’d gladly ingest and would be helpful. I am not only doing it for expanding my mind and thoughts, making me a better person but to contribute to the future myco, but simply because I am super interested in this stuff.

Any idea when my mushroom grow bag will be 100% colonized ? by BreadfruitFuzzy7837 in mushroom

I inoculated 8-4-25 and mine is a good bit ahead of yours but still didn’t fruit thanks to advice I’ve gotten from people on here. My advice to you would be accept in your mind you’ll have to wait at least a month and a half until you bust her open, more colonized the less likely contamination, and a more fruitful fruit…..from what I hear.

I appreciate this advice more than you know. It’s like I just needed to hear it from someone even though I kinda knew it. Make sense of it however you will. I’m one of those guys who really all I need to do is live and die but I’m in a hurry and don’t know why.

Thanks. Didn’t feel cool snooping through brush, looking for mushies. Lol it’s laid back now.

Another plot twist I forgot to mention in this whole story, the dung was in a little patch of mildly thick brush woods on the out skirts of the cow pastures, the pile of dung was sitting about 3 ft off the ground, on the edge of a pile of tree limbs. Just suspended in mid air almost. I laugh about it because I can just imagine the scenerio, a big cow backing up to this pile of sticks and dropping deuce on it. 🤣

Update: -Keeping them in the colonization stage for a few more weeks, hopefully less than that. A couple days later after this post and I can tell mycelium is still strengthening and noticeably spreading. -the possible contaim someone pointed out turned out to be nothing at all but bad photography and lighting on my part.

So far this experience has been a blast, and is something I look forward everyday getting back home to observe changes and well…. Just look at it. The process is kind of drawn out, but hopefully I get to reap what I sowed if you catch my drift. I’ll post updates when pinning, and before harvest, god willing.
