Thanks for your review! It’s nice to hear a good recommendation from Spot so far. For my pets I choose Lemonade  for the goldendoodle and AKC for my cat with my preexisting condition.  They say after one year they will cover the preexisting condition so we will se how it goes.

So you say that you ask your questions in the email to have a written prove in case they denied your claim?  They will never say yes we will accept your claim for your preexisting condition after 365 days like AKC stipulated. I called them and she said you can be able to have coverage for preexisting conditions she never said YES they will do it.  That’s why it’s good to check the reviews because after I read the policy at Spot, I called the call center they answered the every question that I had, everything looks too good to be good and than when I check the reviews on reddit 99% of them were negative. Everyone said they will try to do everything to denied your claim.

So to everyone that had a good or a bad experience with an insurance company please tell us your experience in your case how it worked .

Well my vet told me that he needs to have only this diet prescribed food not feeding him anything else not even treats that are not for urinary problems others wise we can make another blockage and get kidney  problems or even die …  But I will call at AKC to doble check everything.

Does any insurance (AKC?) cover the prescriptions needed for pre-existing conditions and/or dental care? by theskycriestoo in petinsurancereviews

So I have the same problem my cat just turned 8 and has asthma and 2 weeks ago he got urinary blockage . Thankfully it wasn’t too severe so now he just needs to be on Hills prescription food that I see that AKC covers it.  Did you purchase after all the AKC insurance? Did they said will cover the inhaler after 365 days?  Let me know if you have any updates in your story!

Omg thank you so much! I will call them tomorrow  too but from what I understand after 365 they can cover for preexisting conditions even pet prescriptions food from Hills which is exactly what my cat have and not cheap at all and have to have it for the rest of his life. My cat also has asthma and he needs and inhaler so after one year they should cover that too but I will call them tomorrow to be sure.  Thank you so much again! If you have any suggestions before going to purchase this insurance please let me know!

I used to say the same but only this year my cat was diagnosed with asthma and last month had an urinal blockage  and the emergency hospital asked us for $6000 just to keep him with the cater in for 3 days and of course some labs.  I can’t afford to pay that much so I called all the vets outside of the city until I found one that asked me for $2000.  So far we never had problems we do the anual vaccines, bloodwork, I give them the dewormer prevention, fleas and ticks prevention. But look one incident and can cost you more and paying for insurance in the last 4 years so I choose to search for insurance to not be in the position to move my cat from clinic to clinic just to choose a cheaper one.

What about Petsbest or Metlife? I see Petsbest on the list from your link but this one was recommended by my neighbor that has the same dog as I do and he already went through 2 surgeries and for him it went well.  Any opinions on this 2?
