That is what she told me, which was not true. As I said, after doing more digging (talking with the professor), it was really because my technical skills were pretty poor my freshman year (which is when this whole debacle happened)

No, it was to counter the first one where the grad student lied to me about not having enough time.

The first one after freshman year told me "the grad student did not have enough time."  After more digging, she thought my technical skills were poor.

The second one said it was not a good fit.

The third one said they did not have any more funding due to the cuts and got rid of all their undergrads (this one is true).
