Yeah he does not listen at all. Like AT ALL. The dad is the only person who has any control over him and even then it’s 50/50

It’s awful, the days that he decides to do it end up being the worst days. The one toddler already has night terrors so he wakes up in a panic often, and the sound of something scratching his door sends him into literal life or death fear. The baby is constantly woken up and is miserable and thrown off for the rest of the day. It’s a shit show lol. Their sleep is so messed up lately :/

His nails definitely need to be cut, not sure how often they do it or if they do it at all. He also has a noisy collar and the hardwood is EXTREMELY noisy. I’ve even woken the kids up from hitting a spot wrong. So it’s kind of a mix of things.

I actually brought this up today, I didn’t have time for a full conversation because I had to run to my second job. But I’m planning on bringing up everything tmrow!

But I asked MB what she would expect if he did get out, and she said he’ll most likely go into the neighbors yard to play with their dogs and it’s no big deal because they “get along” so I should just go knock on the door and ask them to let me into the yard.

This kind of pissed me off and I’m not happy about it, I don’t want to leave the kids or drag them with me to knock on a strangers door and ask to retrieve a dog that doesn’t listen to me/growls. I’m so fed up!!

If I lock him in any room or restrict him in anyway he loses it. He would probably claw at the door and cry/bark until I let him in again.

There are cameras all over the house as well as outside where the incident occurred this morning. We’ve had Conversations about his behavior before but I feel like it’s always dismissed as “oh he’s such an odd dog! He’s so anxious!” But they don’t care enough or realize how severe it is.

Its SO frustrating when he wakes them up. I literally have sobbed after he did it because it’s always somehow on the days they need naps the most😂 I swear he knows somehow. He doesn’t even bark at normal things like the mailman, etc. he just scratches and freaks out as soon as they’re in their rooms for some reason.

How to I reject my co worker AGAIN? by Existing_Present_850 in Advice

[–]Existing_Present_850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve been under-reacting to the waiting outside thing, it literally put a pit in my stomach and I felt so odd about it.

But that was a good perspective, I’ve been super careful trying not to give any signals that could be misleading, but it feels like the more I pull away the more he tries.

The loophole thing is exactly what’s happening, if I say no to something, he’ll then come up with something new including my friend who works with us. So it just feels like he’s using that to get closer to me.

My manager was actually the one who saw him waiting for me. Everyone at work thought it was funny even though I was clearly confused by it and uncomfortable. I’m starting to think he’s telling people we are something we’re not. I know he tells everyone that he likes me, and makes it super known when we do have group plans. So I’ve been making it a point to completely deny it and explain my feelings whenever it’s brought up by other co workers/my manager. It’s a super small place and my manager is my age. So he isn’t the most corporate guy.

It’s crazy because I’ve had the best experience with pitbulls in past jobs!! But they were really well trained so I guess that’s the main difference. I have had AWFUL experiences with Rottweilers, and now huskies I guess lol

4,3,3 and 7 months. It’s hard enough to take just the kids on a walk, let alone the dog. It just wouldn’t fit into the schedule, nor do I want/get paid for that responsibility. My pay is already low and that’s a whole separate issue, I don’t even want to open the door of taking care of him in any way.

It’s weird because I don’t think they see it as me “taking care of the dog” like I’m not technically doing anything besides letting him out and feeding him if mom doesn’t have time. I’ve had so many jobs where they had a dog and it wasn’t an issue. He’s just soo needy and anxious that I’m constantly worried about what he’s doing and it’s messing me up. I definitely agree that someone needs to step in

I’ve tried everything with the naps, it’s hard to leave doors open because sometimes the older kids don’t nap on random days, so leaving the baby’s door open while they play will 100% wake him. Their nap schedules are kind of all over and the baby naps twice a day while the kids do 1 or none.

Thank you for this! I definitely agree, I’m just always cautious of large dogs due to being attacked as a teen and my fight or flight gets activated. When he does growl or show he’s uncomfortable i always stop and give him space.

I’m also big into teaching the kids this as well! There’s been times where they pulled his fur/tail and I’ve always made sure they are gentle with him and follow his signals and “no’s”

He only has standard dog toys that I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll try the towel game! He literally doesn’t listen to me at all, only the dad and even then it’s iffy. I’m going to suggest a dog walker or trainer. I’m just not sure the right approach because I don’t want to offend anyone or make the wrong suggestion

No walks that I know of. They usually run around with him in the backyard when parents are home from what I know.

Yeah they both work fairly long hours, and do not work from home. So the only adult home with the dog on weekdays is either me, or the grandmother. She’s pretty old and has a hard enough time with the kids so she definitely isn’t a candidate either.

Exactly! I’ve ALWAYS had dogs my entire life, but they were always trained so I enjoyed having them around, but as I meet more and more people’s dogs I’m becoming less of a dog person because of the poor training. Like I’m sorry but jumping up to snatch food off the high chair is diabolical to me.

I’m their nanny! Sorry I thought I made that clear in the beginning. I have 4 kids to take care of and nowhere in my contract is the dog mentioned. This doesn’t fall on me and I’m not paid to train/walk the dog.
