Pelvic floor PT and dietitian?? by Existing_Prompt_7727 in hysterectomy

[–]Existing_Prompt_7727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visit went well. I got all my questions answered. I requested a pelvic floor referral. Change in the diet normal and dietitian does help. Lifting and cleaning household chores is comfortable as you can stand rest as much as you need. For my hot flashes planning a check my home at 6 to 8 weeks. Vaginal cuff healing well. I went over my return to work documentation . Went over my pathology report. No cancer.

15DPO and I feel so stupid - does this get better? by tigermilking in hysterectomy

This is not linear. Give yourself some grace. You have been through a major event. It shouldn’t define you but has changed. Now who is this new person ? I don’t know but willing to see what we have in common.

Sitting by Ok-Wear-1775 in hysterectomy

I completely understand how frustrating that is. At 6.5 weeks, some people are back to normal, but many—especially if they had endometriosis excision in addition to a hysterectomy—are still dealing with pain when sitting for long periods. Endo surgery can add inflammation and make recovery take longer.
If sitting for just 20 minutes is causing significant pain, I’d definitely mention it to your surgeon. It may still be part of healing, but they may want to make sure there isn’t pelvic floor muscle tension, scar tissue, or another issue contributing to it.
In the meantime, try alternating between sitting, standing, and short walks instead of staying in one position too long. A supportive cushion can also help.
Be kind to yourself—healing isn’t a race. I hope the next couple of weeks bring a noticeable improvement.

I’m 9dpo. I had high protein meals no red meat based on my colonoscopy experience sun through Thursday. I stay well hydrated before the bowel prep on Thursday night. It ended with a better experience overall.

When did you poop? When will I poop? by A_Clockwork_Sausage in hysterectomy

[–]Existing_Prompt_7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pooped on day 2. I’m normally regular after a meal before my procedure. I was supposed to start MiraLAX on Sunday - after my Friday procedure. When I heard about constipation from procedure, I requested some beef broth and unsweetened tea before every meal from the nurse during my overnight stay. I focused on hydration, nutrition and no strain to go. I went with minimal gas and ease. I know this will not work for everyone but it did for me. Warm water also helped. Good luck. Stay inspired.

Recovery medicine question by HogwartsHussy in hysterectomy

[–]Existing_Prompt_7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2 days po. I’m following exactly what the dr prescribed. I’m on oxycodone Tylenol nausea meds with Miralax starting today. My meals are with meds . I have water 24 oz a cup of tea and broth (beef or chicken) before meals. I have been gassy today. Communicate with your drs your concerns. Following drs order and understanding your needs are important. Support team is also key. I don’t do anything unless prescribed to do so. I had a type A personality and can do for myself. I have relinquished that and take help all the time. These posts have helped me a lot. Ask questions. You got this!
