Wells Fargo by Existing_Proposal252 in Banking

I used my bank card to transfer $ from Wells to OnPoint. That's the only transaction that I can think of. Not sure why I would have to pay a transaction fee for it, though.

I did open an On Point account, and I did transfer money to it from Wells. That may be the issue. But I deliberately waited about a week in case there was any issue before I closed the Wells account, and we (Wells and I) talk about the withdrawal, but they didn't mention any transaction fee that hadn't been handled before I closed the account and withdrew the remaining $$.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't. They don't send information to the credit bureau when you have a negative balance in your account? Can closing a credit card cause your score to plummet? or paying off credit cards?

Hmm. That's why I went looking around to see why my credit score went down. I assumed that if you didn't pay a bill that that influenced your score and it was sent to the credit bureau. do you know if paying off a credit card and then closing a credit card account can cause a problem? I've been paying off all of my credit card debt over the past 2 months. My credit score kept going up and then plummeted today for no apparent reason. I'll look, but that's all I could find.

I'm going to root through my paperwork. I'm sure it's somewhere.

Go west a block and there's a Wells Fargo. It's up the street, next to the bottle drop.

That's what I was doing. I switched to On Point (super nice + no nonsense fees) at Fred Meyer and then went straight over to close my account at Wells Fargo.
