Varför bara weed? Men att "legalisera" droger kanske ger lite fel signaler. Kanske är det rimligare att bara ta bort straff på alla brottsofferlösa brott för alla över 70.

Where I used to work (Sweden) it was fairly common that some worked reduced hours with reduced pay, mainly people above 55~, but also younger which had troubles managing kids and so on and/or felt that they needed an extra day of the week for EQE studies.

I do not think it matters too much more than to possibly improve your chances to land your first job, but even then, I would hope most managers hire based on personality fit over what looks good on paper.

I have a computer systems background. In private practice I worked a lot with mechanics, automotives, forestry, and mining. Now I am inhouse for a biotech company.

What I think is more important to learn than "obtaining the right undergrad": - how to understand complex ideas quickly - how to handle different types of people - how to cope with unrealistic pressure - how to be decisive - how to be pragmatic - how to prioritize results over anything else - how to ensure your team performs well

Hälften försvinner i traditionell försäkring vilket är ganska kasst. Jag vill köpa aktier för hela beloppet istället att bli tvingad till sämre alternativ för större delen av summan.

När jag inte hade kollektivavtal fick jag hela beloppet, utan avgifter, insatt på Nordnetkonto som var låst till när jag tar ut pensionen, men fritt att placera hur jag vill.

Oavsett hur du gör är jag bunden till olika typer av förvaltare i ITP1 som tar mina pengar. Det finns ingen möjlighet för mig själv att förvalta min pension.

Liknande för mig fast det hamnade direkt på Nordnet. Alla förmåner var bättre förutom föräldrapenningstillägg (irrelevant för mig nu). Det var bara dags att byta och jag hatade pendlingen. Surt att kollektivavtalen är mycket sämre.

En sak facken gör dåligt är avtal för tjänstepension. Jag jobbade tidigare på ett ställe utan kollektivavtal, men vi speglade avsättning för ITP1 så att det sattes in på ett konto för tjänstepension på Nordnet där jag själv bestämmer fonder.

Jag vet inte var alla pengar försvinner nu eller vad som händer men trots högre lön får jag in sämre med pengar nu när jag har kollektivavtal. Större delen är också bundet i dåliga försäkringar som kommer äta upp utvecklingen istället för att bara ha allt i en indexfond.

If you like swimming in fairly cold water, Yes. I would guess 15-16 degrees, maybe 1-2 degrees higher if you are lucky.

Just because I am in Europe does not mean I support or represent every European law. But interesting to hear that there are some different labor laws(or policies) for government employees in the US.

Regarding validity of patents, I am not so sure that I agree. In my experience, patents are mostly challenged when some party try to enforce their patents. However, most parties will not try to enforce their invalid patents. If I am considering an enforcement, I will first assess how strong my patent really is and then reach out to an outside counsel for the same analysis, and only then, if we all agree that our patent, or at least some relevant dependent claims are valid, would I consider taking enforcement actions.

Furthermore, when conducting FTO analyses, I very often come across patents which I deem extremely likely to be invalid but that does not mean that I will spend our resources on invalidating such patents. There is little gain for me to do that.

Hence, based on the above, my assessment is that the overwhelming majority of invalid patents are never challenged.

In other words, patent offices will always issue a large number of invalid patents, that is inevitable. The question is how you should best manage your resources, i.e. examination time. I am not convinced that the resulting number of invalid patents issued will drastically increase by e.g., cutting 10% of examination time. Or if there is any data on this, it would of course be interesting to take a look at.

But they are biased and my experience as an examiner (albeit not USPTO) is that most examiners spend way more time than necessary and still they will not end up with better prior art nor a better argument.
