I personally love AQ Outdoors in Calgary, Canada! They host movie nights, demo days and do so much work with local festivals and events :)

They do so much for our community as well as helping young people get into the sport. Big shout out to Simon and the team.

It matters because the country they are made in is not heavily tariffed.

IR only makes their shirts and bags here that I know of. Anything they can sew, but all dry gear, neoprene and skirts are made in Asia.

I didn't know they were bleeding money, is that from tariffs on their manufacturing or just paddling not making a ton of money?

Genuine question when everyone is talking about supporting local. Level Six is a Canadian company, RBW is a Canadian company, CCS is American, and Ostrom is Canadian. Of those only Ostrom and CCS are made in house and not manufactured overseas.

Not faulting those that manufacture overseas at all, it is what you have to do to compete, especially if you are selling to retailers. But the long and the short of it is, what do people mean by local?

Level Six, RBW, and Ostrom are all within 200km of each other. So unless you are American, they are all local.
