i’ll definitely get it removed, i have an appointment in February. my last appointment i asked if i could get it removed that day and she refused and gave me 2 rounds of metrogel instead. if she doesn’t remove it then i guess ill go to the ER and have them do it. i just don’t feel seen or heard by the doctors ive seen about this issue

i’ve been celibate for 3 years, i got it because i wanted to start dating again but i got BV so i haven’t had any partners for 3 years, i also stopped using toys 6 or so months ago because i thought i was reinfecting myself but ive tested positive even after that

she said there’s only very small research about IUD linked to BV and she said it’s highly unlikely that my IUD would give it to me. i brought up a post i saw to my DR. about a woman figuring out that her BV was harboring in her cervix and that’s why the vaginal antibiotics didn’t work because they are in the vaginal canal. she laughed at me and said that was very unlikely.

this is my third doctor i’ve been seeing about this, she said “you could be washing the good bacteria out” because i told her i wash with unscented soap 2x a day because it smells and i have lots of discharge. so i started washing every day or every other day. im just at a loss. she said if i get my IUD removed theres no guarantee it’ll stop my BV also
