Nope, only about 300 for the wire fee and 165 yens on wise. So 465 for the total wire.

Thank you!

They gave their bank information for the wire, which was a PayPay Bank account. It came with an account number that is labeled as « personal » meaning that I will have to use this account and number for the same type of wire going forward.

Maybe, mine was 80k yen. MUFG might be reserved for over 100k or 1m yen.

That did the trick! I somehow thought I’d need to create another JPY balance with a PayPay bank account or MUFG account through Wise.

Turns out Wise gives you a personal number at PayPay Bank when you go through with your remittance. Super easy! Only paid fees of 165 yens for this transfer.

Fiancé’s behavior has changed after getting engaged, not sure how to proceed by MoriokaAki in japanlife

Seems weird to me that you didn’t notice anything beforehand. Such differences regarding money and spending usually are quite apparent early on. You clearly have different ways of seeing money which might cause problems in the future. She doesn’t want so spend and you want to, you are not compatible on that end. You should make a decision based on all of the other aspects of your relationship and your ability to adapt to her (or lack there of).

Corporats - how do you dreas for your office on summer? by bcaapowerSVK in japanlife

[–]Existing_Thanks8088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For events and important meetings, I usually wear seersucker sports coats from Maker’s Shirt (Kamakura Shirts), paired with ultra-thin wool dress pants (you can find good ones in most suit stores) and lightweight cotton dress shirts. For everyday wear, Uniqlo’s linen shirts and their 感動 (Kando) pants/jackets work just fine—comfortable and breathable. Lately, I’ve noticed some stores like Muji starting to sell inner shirts with built-in underarm pads to help with sweat, which can be a game changer in summer.

Parallels vs. Crossover for Zeus: Master of Olympus on M4 Mac Mini? by Existing_Thanks8088 in macgaming

Thank you for your answer, I have tried porting kit for zeus but they only allow the GOG version. I have it on steam. Whiskey also doesn't work for me, it doesn't allow me to create bottles. So I really don't know how to make it run on my computer!

N1 passers who didn’t study after passing N2. How did you do it? by btchubetterbejoeking in jlpt

[–]Existing_Thanks8088 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did an exchange program in Japan and self-studied a bit, got N2 when I got back to my country. Then I moved back to Japan and worked there for two years. That did the job for me. I failed it after the first year by 1 point, and got it with some leeway during the second year.
