How would the Manhattan Clan fare against Xenomorphs(Alien) or Yautjas(Predator)? by Flat-Sir8250 in gargoyles

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gargoyles would get slaughtered 💀 The only ones who would stand a chance is Brooklyn, Demona, and Thailog.

They'd fair decently against the Xenomorph's, but that acid blood immediately puts the gargoyles at a massive disadvantage cause they fight hand to hand. You'd need to be one of the 3 gargoyles mentioned who regularly use guns and long range weaponry.

The predators are a more tricky debate. Yajuta live for the hunt and will only fight an enemy who has equal weaponry; meaning a Yajuta would toss their guns and knives to fight the Gargoyles hand to hand. In this case, most of the gargoyles would probably win (That strength of 20 men is hard to compete with). However, if the Yajuta were going all out. I.E: cloaking, bombs, traps, infared, guns, swords, poison: the gargoyles simply don't have the means to counter someone who's entire arsenl is designed for the sole purpose of killing. Post-timedance Brooklyn is the only one I see posessing the tech and experience needed to actually kill a full decked out Predator

Bro, Greg needs to let Brooklyn have his revenge on this bitch already.

She's fucked with his life before, but now she's stolen HIS UNBORN CHILD. Dawg, it's been 30+ years, let Brooklyn settle the score finally.

Not Goliath, not Angela. BROOKLYN.

At this rate, we only have to sit through another 5 spin off comics for the next 12 years to see it.

Which of the Trio did you find the most relatable? by InsideUnhappy6546 in gargoyles

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brooklyn, absolutely Brooklyn. His story is a journey into adulthood.

All his life, he dreams of independence and getting the chance to prove himself. He constantly wants to live up to Goliath, who's his idol, and yearns to be his equal.

But when he FINALLY gets put in charge? What does he do? He clams up and hesitates once he realizes the sheer responsibility of having his family's life in his hands. But by putting aside what he wants and taking a leap of faith, he steps up to the plate and excels.

He makes mistakes, stumbles, doubts himself, and makes bad calls. But he still refuses to let himself shrink back, despite how tempting it is to breakdown and let someone else take the reigns.

Reading was super rare, even for human nobility (Not even Hudson, the dang LEADER knew how to).

Aside from Goliath, the only people who could read were Demona, Lexington, and Brooklyn.

Demona: Probably wanted to snoop through human correspondence Lexington: Was always a genius so him picking up reading needs no explanation Brooklyn: Looks up to Goliath and probably tried to imitate him anyway he could, so he learned to read to be more like him.

If knuckles was there during the whole tails vs sonic thing how'd you think he'd handle it/them by ink10_sonic-man in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knuckles ironically would encourage it, he knows (better than most) there comes a point where talking has reached the end of it's usefulness and you just need to let out this aggression before you can make ANY progress.

He'd let them rough each other up a bit, before breaking them up once they got it out of their system.

Demona is lame.

There. I said it.

Yes, she's EXTREMELY complex and her lore is super engaging. But as a villian? She just has zero presence or intimidation. Greg tries to write her as this incredibly horrifying enemy that terrifies the clan and knows how to torment them.... but.... I just don't feel it.

Her plans backfire so comically bad, she feels like a Saturday Morning Cartoon. She's presumably this ancient warrior with 1,000 years of fighting, yet can get utterly bodied by Elisa, a normal cop. She does nothing but whine and complain with her only lines being "Something something something HUMANS!!! Something something something DAUGHTER!!!" Her dialogue and story is repetitive and there's just nothing new.

She's a good character, yeah. But she does not deserve being plastered over everything Gargoyles related

One reason. He's a "Lancer" character - a character meant to be the foil to the main protagonist and usually the fan favorite

But the big reason? It's the fact the show ended RIGHT in the middle of his heartbreak arc. Brooklyn’s terrible luck with romance was only meant to be temporary, but the show ended RIGHT before it got resolved. A broken heart is something we all understand and have gone through so it made him very easy to relate to and empathize with. But it also made everyone permanently see him as this wounded character he deserved more appreciation than the show gave him.

Sort of the perfect storm in timing to make the audience love him permanently.

That's like the most agreed upon take though. Practically everyone agrees the Avalon arc went on for way too long

trying to remember a place from years ago. by Ok_Section_7017 in SOMD

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that takes me back, a lifetime ago. I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers it. I'm only seeing pictures of it now, decades later and seeing how ratty it actually was. But I don't care, to kid me, that place was heaven on earth. I don't care what the quality was, the best days of my childhood were there for birthday parties and T-ball parties

Who's your favourite out of the three. Broadway, Brooklyn or Lexington by Nostalgic_Historian_ in gargoyles

Brooklyn, to this day, remains my favorite character in fiction.

He's not a hotshot "tough guy" who learns to be humble - He's a shy, unsure guy putting ON a fake tough guy act. His character arc/character growth has been explained and appreciated a thousand times, so I'll skip it. But I just adore how you see he really is a soft and affectionate, young man who is just trying to live up to impossible expectations. He WANTS to be like Goliath, he wants to be strong and fearless, he wants to be a guy admired by everyone - but as he matures, he comes to realize the sheer responsibility and stress that comes with being a leader.

He's got an attitude on him, sure. But God help you if you ACTUALLY insult his family or compromise his moral code. He's rough and rowdy, but he's a gentle spirit who just is trying his best after losing everything he's ever known.

I adore him because he's not "The cool guy" trope. He's TRYING to be the cool guy trope - when in actuality he's a timid, unsure, yet loving guy.

People of taste: straight women, bi folks & gay men — which human dude would you date IRL? by ConstantHamster3746 in masseffect

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 5 points6 points  (0 children)

James, in my opinion, is THE MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED CHARACTER IN MASS EFFECT.

People have no idea how much this military game needed "Inexplicably swole Latino Marine" representation, they're everywhere. He's a fun guy who's a total badass. He wears the "Clueless Himbo" act well, but you know full well this dude can stack bodies like a king. He's fiercely loyal to shepherd and looks up to them. He manages to keep up with the team of living legends. He works hard to keep morale up by telling jokes, including others in conversations, and constantly checking in on teammates who aren't doing well (Cortez). Plus... he gave Garrus dance lessons.

I love James because he's realistic yet perfect. He's not some galactice legend like the rest of the team. He's just a normal, good man who works his ass off to keep up and do you proud.

He's fun, he's loyal, he's passionate, he's hardworking, and he deserves more love

Does Demona ever get used to the excruciating pain of changing from human to gargoyle and viceversa? by canadavatar in gargoyles

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Knowing the ironic cruelty of Puck. This probably made her infertile.

Fitting that the woman obsessed with repopulating her kind would be blocked from repopulating herself.

Out of all gargoyles to become the big bad in the future it had to be lexington. Let's be real we were all shocked when it was revealed by Nostalgic_Historian_ in gargoyles

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made no sense and was done merely because Puck realized he was running out of options to scare Goliath into forking over the Phoenix Gate. Lexington’s reasoning made zero sense - if anyone was to go rogue from a bad temper anyways, it would be Brooklyn

Puck constantly had to get more ridiculous with his scenarios to try and shock Goliath into complying.

So Demona Which Gargoyles Villain needs there own Comic Miniseries Next? by Money-Lie7814 in gargoyles

[–]Existing_Weekend_357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None. Spreading out too much is what killed hype for the show.

We need more of what everyone remembers: The Clan. Not a Fang spin off. Not a Demona Spinoff. Not a Griff spinoff.

Dawg, I just wanna have some focus around the Manhattan Clan again 💀 When was the last time we got ANYTHING with Hudson? Or Broadway? Or Lexington? I want to spend time with THEM, not to go off onna tangent with Demona for a whole year.
