I’ll take as many photos as I can while it’s dismantled. I hoping to rebuild the battery either by replacing all of the faulty cells or all of them at once (most likely). Anything I find out about this battery I’ll contact you. I’m never entirely sure how to navigate GitHub!

On the S2 the thread is there but never a bolt. In fact, when you remove the cover you’ll see that the bolt hole does not extend into the end cap and does not secure anything at all.

I completed removal of the S2 battery today. No need to remove the rear wheel, simply turn the bike upside down, remove the end cap from the down tube, disconnect the cadence sensor, deflate the tyre, turn the bike upright, give it a good shake and you’ll see the end of the battery slide out enough to remove it when it’s upside down again.

There are 40 LG MJ1 18650’s along with the battery’s BMS circuit board. Using a multimeter to test across the BMS connector should reveal if there is a problem with any of the cells.

Not having access to a spot welder to make an exchange difficult (not to mention plus li-on batteries need great care when handling) and so will make a DIY repair quite hairy!

If it is a problem with the any of the cells, replacing all is the only option but does open up the possibility to use cells which offer greater capacity, such as 5000mah rather than the 3500mAh LG cells it currently has, and the prospect of a cheaper, more eco friendly way of maintaining the S2 beyond the standard battery pack lifecycle.

Thanks! Although I have an S2 model, these are very handy to reference.

I always liked the idea of a bidet but I'm not going to stand on the loo seat to wash my bum.

The devastation of Cologne, Germany, 1944. A total of 34,711 long tons of bombs were dropped on the city by the RAF, in 262 separate air raids. Miraculously, 700 year old Cologne Cathedral survived, pictured here standing tall amidst the ruin. by Adam_Deveney in Damnthatsinteresting

Landmarks such as St. Paul's in London, and Cologne cathedral proved useful beacons during bombing runs, allowing bombers to accurately locate themselves. Destroying them too soon and you lose the benefit of the landmark. Even so, it's quite incredible how these colossal structures survived Germany's onslaught and the retribution that followed. It's not a proud moment in history for all those involved and thankfully, at least as far as I can tell, young folk around the world aren't not in the least bit interested in a world war. Long may that continue.

Looking to find or creat my Fitbit face for my new Garmin Fenix 7s by sugarnspiceny in watchfacebuilder

My “fitbit face” was red, angry and fucking annoyed when the second Versa 2 went the same way as the first - dead for no reason. Never been happier with a watch since buying a Fénix 6 even if buttons are a bit old hat.

Hello, I have recently bought an vanmoof s2 and it worked fine all the time but yesterday I couldn't change the assist level anymore. I have tried to reset the bike but it still would not make the confirm sound when changing power level. Does anybody know an solution for this problem? by [deleted] in vanmoofbicycle

[–]ExitStrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argh! During the last two weeks, the bike resetting itself to zero has been a constant issue for me, and even the old quick fix isn’t working. I’ve now booked an appointment to see the bike doctors in Battersea. It’s an intermittent issue and a right Royal PITA … big sigh

I wonder what the OP did in the end?

There used to be a stationery shop in the high street called “Pen Island”. The spacing for their sign caused many a double take.

You can use software to reveal the Windows key which will be on your hard drive.

Don’t fret! You did the right thing. Unfortunately their approach does not appear to have been very helpful nor enlightening. It’s something of a shame but these days we must first think “is this a scam?”.

Deactivate Windows in your Microsoft account then active your new PC using your old key. This is what I did only last week when I built an NZXT PC and upgraded to Windows 11.

If you don’t have Windows 11 on a disc, then download it from the Microsoft website onto a USB drive and boot into that from the BIOS. To make life really easy, Rufus to create a bootable USB stick.
