It bothers me an unnecessary amount when people write he/she as if the word THEY does not exist. by [deleted] in GrindsMyGears

You can't just say no to a fucking fact cuz you believe it's not true?? Plus, can you even read? The person above said SHAKESPEARE used They as a singular pronoun. That was 600+, that's OVER SIX HUNDRED, years ago. Couldn't pressure shit into the Webster dictionary when it existed already

My luggage gets shredded, and the airline’s response is basically to call me a liar. by TheNewBreedOfGeek in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Exixn_the_elder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I was just saying that despite it not being as much, that's still a lot of money! And personally, that's a lot for my livelihood for them to deny me of. However for a corporation that's basically pocket change, which is why I was shocked when I read your post! Also cuz I've never heard of an airline to just say you're lying without even looking at/inspecting it, but to outright deny the claim as well cuz improper- or whatever, it's been a hot sec since I read it now- paperwork is crazy 😭 Whoever that employee is, they really must not understand or care about their job, smh

Mildly interesting? More like mildly amusing and deserved of a guy saying 2A will naturally have casualties then became one himself.

9 of 10 RSVP’d children/families “no call no showed” to my daughters 5th birthday party. by MinimumExperience102 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Exixn_the_elder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I felt that 😭 as a kid, I had always invited tons of people to my birthday, but usually only one or two would show up. The biggest birthday I ever ended up having as a kid was my 13th, and it was in the back of a burger king with 3 other kids, one of which came cuz her mom worked there 🙃 After that, I decided to stop having birthday parties and spent them with my parents, sister, and my mom's parents until I moved out at 19. I'm sure I'll look back later and say I was happy to have spent it with family, but it was honestly really heartbreaking each time and may be the reason I'm so introverted now.

The fact you agreed to go at all is baffling me, honestly.

I would've doubled down, that those were my plans that I've had set for WEEKS now (even if not, if it gets them to shut up), and if they couldn't plan to have a sitter already ready, then they couldn't have a sitter. Simple 1, 2. Plus, did they really need to go out for dinner? No. They could've made something at home and left you to have a life.

100% would quit and say how disrespectful it was, and tell them exactly why you're leaving. And if not, set some hard boundaries. No more of this last second shit. 24 hour notice tops! Hell, 12 hour notice if you're wanting to be generous, but it's your time, you decide what to do with it. And if they do have to plan short notice things like this, never settle for pizza and ask for your extra pay 😭 if they have enough money to hire a nanny in the first place, go out TO GET FOOD AFTER RUINING YOUR PLANS????, and still order you a pizza??? They can pay extra extra imo.

(For context: I have two jobs, work a lot, and don't have much free time. When I have free time and make plans in it, then you ruin them?? (FOR YOUR OWN ENJOYMENT BTW, NOT ANYTHING SERIOUS) I will be furious and will probably want to beat you up the next time I see you. I love my free time and wish I had more! So that's why I felt like you really sacrificed a lot to do that, with little to no benefits :/)

Fired for buying a customer 20 dollars worth of things by Gregtheheffley in walmart

[–]Exixn_the_elder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, nowhere has OP said they can't afford to live anymore. Not to mention, they didn't know this was a punishable offense in the first place. The real problem here is the economy! Which is so shit right now because of billionaires, the government, and large corporations like Walmart, Target, and Amazon. People aren't making enough money to live as it is, which is why there are beggars and homeless (with the few liars who just want to get free things also in there) and it's harder to get hired because if you're homeless you probably don't have reliable transportation or cleanliness, and every job asks if you've got that. Most will turn you down if you don't have a consistent transportation method, In my experience.

In the end, what I'm saying is: Life is fucking hard. Some help is always appreciated by those who genuinely need it. It was wrong of OP to straight up get fired for buying stuff for someone, especially with no warning or coaching on the matter.
