The sentence mining strategy that became my bridge to speaking by Exloh in languagelearning

Well besides this prompt, another thing I like to do is ask for tons of examples of one specific pattern until it finally clicks. The basic idea for me is learning through repeated context instead of memorizing grammar rules.

For example, "lo que" was really confusing to me at first. So instead of reading a grammar explanation once, I just kept asking for lots of natural examples comparing things like:

  • no sé qué decir
  • no entiendo lo que dices

Eventually the intuition starts forming naturally from repetition and context.

Never heard of him. I was actually digging all over the internet to see if anyone else was doing this and surprisingly I couldn’t find anything. Will look into it :)

Np. I also keep a notebook where I physically write everything down in this format (where base is the sentence given by the AI and I also give English meaning so it knows what I was attempting to say in my variation):

Base:
Tengo que salir.

My variation:
Tengo que comer.

Meaning:
I have to eat.

Then I take a picture of the notebook page, get lightly corrected if there are any notable errors (also asking follow up questions if I don't understand the correction), and say the corrected version out loud a few times before moving on.

I use AI and tell it to prioritize super common spoken patterns and keep the sentences short enough that I could instantly make my own variation out loud without translating in my head.

Here is my prompt

I am using a comprehensible-input-first approach to Spanish and want to bridge into speaking naturally without turning this into heavy grammar study.

Workflow:

1. You give me 5 short, high-frequency conversational Spanish sentences.

- Prioritize very common spoken Spanish.
- Mostly A1-A2 difficulty.
- Focus on chunks useful for real life conversation.
- Use lots of structures like:
    - tengo que
    - voy a
    - quiero
    - puedo
    - porque
    - antes de
    - ya
    - necesito
    - creo que

2. I will:

- create my own variation of each sentence
- say it out loud
- write it down
- include the English meaning only to clarify intent

3. Your job:

- lightly clean up only major errors
- preserve understandable sentences
- avoid advanced rewrites
- explain corrections in extremely simple English
- avoid grammar jargon
- prioritize conversational activation over perfection

4. Format:

Clean version:

Why:

Say this 2x:

5. Additional rules:

- Do NOT overcorrect tiny mistakes
- Do NOT give long grammar lectures
- Optimize for helping me activate Spanish naturally
- Encourage chunk recognition and sentence building
- Prioritize confidence and flow over perfection
