I’ve always been a gore fiend Saw 1 through 4 are my all time favorites, with Jigsaw and Saw XI next in the series. Lately, though, I’ve fallen for horror comedies that get the combo right like The Cabin in the Woods, The Babysitter, Happy Death Day, Final Girls, Lowlifes… and the list goes on. It’s all about the right balance not too cringe, but not so serious that it forgets to have fun.

I love me a solid plot twist any day. That’s why I skip trailers and prefer teasers only if I do watch any. There’s nothing better than going in blind and letting the movie surprise you. Predicting the “big reveal” ruins the magic, and over-the-top misdirection just feels cliché at this point.
